January 21, 2010 is when democracy died. Very few people knew it at the time. W/o the Citizens United ruling, 11/5/24 would never have happened.

The promise of a beer and ballgame in the near future is doing a lot of emotional heavy lifting these days.
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."
-Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1953
Baseball can’t come soon enough.
"Free speech is not about whether someone else agrees or disagrees; it's about whether you are able to do it."

That is no way to talk to me if you want a lift to the pub, Steve!
Sorry to shit in your Cheerios, but very few Nazis saw the court room. Most Nazis carrying out orders didn't see Nurumberg. So don't get your hopes up. They only indicted 24 Nazis and 3 were aquitted. I hope you are right, but history doesn't support it.
Kroger will lay off ~1,000 employees.
In December, it announced $7.5B in stock buybacks – which juice stock prices, enriching shareholders and boosting CEO pay.
Just so happens that Kroger's last CEO was paid 457x its typical employee in 2024.
Textbook corporate greed.
I know this answer. It's other traitors who see the abolition of slavery as a loss.
And handing political power to corporations
Socialism is what they called public power.
Socialism is what they called social security.
Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.
Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

The WW that took us to WWI
The last (only) time the US elected a PhD to president, he rolled back civil rights several decades, got us involved in someone else's war, and was generally one of the worst presidents in US history. Not as bad as the current president but he wasn't far behind.
The upward redistribution of wealth over the past 50 years has shifted $80 trillion from the bottom 90% of Americans to the top 1%.
That’s $80 trillion that would have gone into the paychecks of the working class.
The greatest trick of all is trickle-down economics.
Dear Democratic Members of Congress,
Stop telling me about what he's doing. We can all see it.
Start telling me about what you're doing to stop it!
Signed,
Americans
I've been thinking about this for a few years now and it's probably not politically feasible or even scientifically possible but I think the US needs an opposition party
It's funny thinking back to the argument that Dems couldn't get rid of the filibuster when they were in power because they'd miss it once the GOP was in power.

This hits hard…
“Then she was fired by a Fox News weekend host.”
You know what else hits hard? The fact that voters thought it was a good idea to hire a reality show host/bankrupt businessman as President of the United States.
When the next recession comes, how 'bout this time we don't bail out the rich people.
Herbert Hoover with some horrible human beings in 1938.
They’re eating the Veterans. They’re eating the Military Families.
Nosferatu 2024 movie still, Count Orlok looking at the camera
Nosferatu: totally worth it, wish I’d gone to see it in IMAX. We all know the story, but Skarsgård just nails it as Orlok. The voice 🖤 . Combined with the pacing, lighting, creature design…very solid. The Dracula movie fans of the book will have always wanted.
This gets my vote for tweet/post of the year. This is a RED ALERT post. This is exactly why he’s doing it.
Cover of "They Thought They Were Free" by Milton Mayer
If you haven't read "They Thought They Were Free" by Milton Mayer I recommend you read it ASAP. It is one of the scariest books I have ever read because of how easy it is to rationalize inaction. It's about the normal, everyday, "just doing what I can to get by" Nazis.
This is Russia attacking us.
