Got to listen to a great talk from @everywherechem.bsky.social today at AU
Many thanks to Dr. Rigoberto Hernandez @everywherechem.bsky.social @jhuartssciences.bsky.social Prof. and @acs.org President-Elect for presenting at our faculty seminar series today!
In Rigoberto Hernandez’s presidential year, he will focus on raising ACS’s impact globally, fostering belonging in the society, and advancing an ACS membership-for-life concept. cen.acs.org/acs-news/Rig... #chemsky 🧪 @everywherechem.bsky.social

“thinking like a scientist also requires us to feel like a scientist [...] How do we broaden the ability to feel like a scientist when sharing the value of and passion for science with the public or other communities?"

We just finished our 13th Telluride Science biennial workshop on Chemical Dynamics in Complex Environments (Chem-DiCE).
Hard to believe that we started 25 years ago!
Many thanks to all the participants. Everyone was engaged. The science was awesome. And, I learned a lot.
Great to collaborate with the Giraldo Lab and our CSN (@sustainablenano.bsky.social) team!
After 32 years, I finally had a chance to return to advancing Semiclassical Transition State Theory (SCTST). Check out our paper, just published in @JChemPhys (with Alex Popov!)

Please contact your state and federal representatives... and let them know why NSF, NIH, DOE and DOD external research agencies (and those not listed here) need to continue to support scientific research.
Our science infrastructure needs your help so that we can continue to drive the innovation and translation that can help you and everyone around you be better tomorrow.

Also, check out, the Council note by Wayne Jones, Board Chair, who chose to highlight the new ACS Strategic Plan launched on January 1, and described in the ACS Comment a few weeks ago by Will Lynch.
Everyone in the succession plays a role. I chose to pursue the need to have us all make the case to our representatives. It’s in line with my ACS_First platform to have all of our members represent us to the world.
More on this in my Comment in tomorrow’s C&EN 3/17 issue & in my Council remarks.
