So yeah I can't say I feel blessed to work.

I just can't get over the idea of feeling blessed for... this.

I can't say I feel blessed for noticing my foot is bending in odd ways when I walk now.

I can't say I feel blessed when my arms burn even when I'm off the clock.

I can't say I feel blessed when I nearly die almost daily.

It sorta just stuck in my mind considering I come home from work covered in bruises and cuts regularly, my job has done permanent damage to my body that I won't know the full extent of until I'm probably in my 40s or 50s and all that for a paycheck that without help barely pays for bills and food.

It was always that, feeling blessed to work.

Folks in positions I know they hate saying that having ANY job right now is a blessing regardless of how bad it is.

Always blessed, as if it was a divine act to have an hourly paycheck.

And then I just kept hearing it over and over again.

"I can't imagine standing out in a line like that... I'm so blessed to have a job"

"Yeah its rough out there, I'm so blessed to have a job with how the market is"

"I'm so blessed to have a job"

I sorta just zoned out past a point.

"Oh a crowd of hundreds its just another thing to avoid."

But then something was said to me in the elevator that just hit me in the wrong way.

"I'm so blessed that I have a job right now"

Now I'm terrible with crowds; its like an actual phobia of mine, so for most of the day I was focused on just avoiding it as much as possible.

So I didn't really think much of it as the line grew and grew and grew with the sun beating down on the folks looking for anything stable.

Got a text last night from a coworker that I'm "blessed" for having a job right now and I just keep hearing that over and over.

So my work had a job fair happen a short time ago and of course with how the economy is the lines just to get in to the building went all the way through the parking lot.
