Jayce swallows as his shoulders drop, he really doesn’t want to give in but he doesn’t want to force Viktor.
“I’ll be outside. I won’t follow you, but I’ll be watching that path.”

“I…” Jayce starts, dropping to watch Viktor’s shift in body language, “it’s not my intention to suffocate you or control what you do.”
“I just- I don’t know what he knows to what he’s capable of and that terrifies me.”
Jayce's hand drops from his face, hurt clear on his features.
“Yeah? Well this Piltie is trying to make sure you live. We survived years without flowers in our faces, what’s a few days?”
"We don't know anything else about him, he very well could be."
Jayce squeezes the bridge of his nose in an attempt to calm down, he's not mad and doesn't want to be that way with Viktor.
"Are they that important?"
Jayce pulls his arm back as Viktor slaps it away, something inside him snaps.
"You understand but still want to leave? Not even with something to defend yourself? How are you not worried about this? He could get us killed!"
He hasn't rose his voice to Viktor in a long time, it feels wrong.
"If they don't need to be said, then you wouldn't feel the need to say them."
Jayce grabs Viktor's arm and moves it away from the door as his expression darkens.
"Open a window."
"What about later?"
Jayce places himself between Viktor and the door, "Or when that merchant leaves? He can't stay forever."
“What?”
Jayce drops the lock onto the table and darts towards the front door. He side steps Viktor and closes the door.
“Do we need flowers though?”
Jayce has spent the past few hours testing the locks on the doors and windows, a few of them need to be repaired.
He hears a creak of Viktor heading towards the front of the house, "Viktor?"
Jayce's eyes grow cold, when Viktor was in the hexcore he did many things he wasn't proud of.
"Because if he finds out, overpowering him won't be enough. He'd ruin this life we have."
He can hear the anger in Viktor's voice but it doesn't make him feel bad, it makes him feel frustrated beyond belief.
"In case we have to defend ourselves," Jayce turns around, "Do I plan on using it? No. But I will if I have to."
Jayce goes back to cleaning the machete.
"I will tell you what to do to keep you safe," Jayce mutters to himself, "I don't enjoy bossing you around."
“I’ve spoken TOO HIM! He might not know your face but he knows mine, plus our names aren’t exactly common pairs.”
“What if he starts?” Jayce argues, “He knew who we were. He might not know your face, but hearing our names together might make him curious. If he comes around we’ll have to leave …
Or defend ourselves.”
Jayce turns back around, “You’re not going on that walk. Not right now.”
“Dimitri has shown up with little to no warning, who’s to say he won’t bring him over?”
It makes sense to Jayce and he cannot understand why Viktor doesn’t understand his concerns.
“We can’t risk it.”
“Outside?”
Jayce turns on his heel, his eyes are open wide with horror.
“We can’t do that right now! Not with that man in town, what if he comes up and sees my face?”
Jayce points at himself, his hands dripping.
Jayce pauses what he's doing, an old machete sits across their sink. He found it in the shed when looking for different thinks to defend themselves if they had to.
"Yeah?" Jayce looks over his shoulder, stepping to the side to shield Viktor from seeing it.
Entry 11 I’ve neglected this journal, not on purpose but because I’ve been so incredibly busy with Viktor. Being able to make love to him was better than I could have imagined, it almost felt as close as we did in the arcane. It was beautiful, he’s beautiful- I love him. I love him so much and now I’m being a paranoid asshole because of Dimitri’s friend. He’s upset with me, I know it, but I can’t risk anything ruining this. I’m afraid this man will hurt us, hurt him, or we’ll have to face our past life once more instead of moving past it. I want to move on, I want to grow. If I have to kill him, I will, but I don’t want to. I just can’t allow us to lose this, Viktor deserves a life of peace and happiness- we both do.
Jayce squeezes Viktor's hand harder than he probably should as he imagines their new life falling apart because of random man.
When they leave through the back, Jayce is still vigilant and keeps his head down. He can't risk something happning to Viktor, he cann't risk them being found out.
The realization hits him like a truck, he had introduced himself with his last name when he first met Dimitri.
"Shit, he does...I told him when we met!"
Jayce's grip on Viktor's shoulder tightens, it feels like he's going to lose his entire world.
"How do we get pass them?"
"Does Dimitri know my last name?" Jayce's eyes widen as worry grows on his face.
They have two issues, how to avoid this man and how to avoid Dimitri blowing any part of their cover.
The moment Viktor gets close, Jayce grabs him by the arm and pulls him into the store. He doesn't say a word until the door has shut behind them.
"I know that man," Jayce hisses, places his hands on Viktor's shoulders, "I've SPOKEN to that man back in Piltover."

Jayce frantically begins to wave his hands in an attempt to get Viktor's attention. Part of him is relieved that this man doesn't recognize Viktor, but he knows that if he turns around he WILL be. His plan is look away if he does.
𝘋𝘢𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵, Jayce thinks, 𝘏𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘮𝘦...
Quickly Jayce ruffles his hair in a way that obscures part of his face before he side steps out the door.
"Viktor," He calls from the corner of his mouth, through clenched teeth, "Hey."
While Jayce is looking through new household tools he glances up to see a familiar face outside talking with Viktor. His stomach drops, this person was a common entity around Piltover.
Swallowing hard Jayce tilts his head downward and taps on the glass to get Viktor's attention.
"Have you not learned I might not be the best when it comes to spending? Especially when it comes to haggling," Jayce muses with a wink before heading into the shop.
Jayce stands with his hands in his pockets, eyes scanning the window of a local store.
"Do you mind if I pop in there for a few minutes while we wait?"
Jayce laughs at Viktor's good boy comment, "Shame you didn't say that five minutes ago... though I might have broken you if you did."
He leaves forward and gives Viktor a kiss to the top of his head, his body feels warm, his skin still tingling.
Jayce runs his hands through Viktor's hair as his breathing starts to settle down.
"It was incredible," Jayce says, his voice light as though he's experiencing a dream, "I think once and a while...that would be a fun treat."
In those final moments, Jayce bucks his hips upward to drive his cock once more against Viktor’s crevice before climaxing as well.
He lets Viktor fall onto him, their breathing heavy.
