When John Peel hosted Home Truths. A listener had explained to her girls on a car journey that you could *choose* music for funerals. "Could we choose for yours Mum?" gratified "Yes". frantic whispering in the back. 'We've chosen'. Then John kicked off their choice. Ding Dong! the Witch is dead.

Yeah. Cos everyone knows that anger is an emotion that you plan and brief people about in advance.

True. A better reference would be. Downing Street has issued a statement on how vetting procedures are managed without addressing why an important Ambassadorial position was announced by the Government before those procedures were complete.

I don't expect City to win all their remaining games either if that helps.

That's it. I've observed what's happened to @dwpete.bsky.social and @martinwidlake.bsky.social post retirement, and I'm never retiring :)

Haven't you got some cats to play with? Or trees to attack with a chainsaw? :)

most clearest. Stop causing me physical pain!

Full of confidence, I see. All the best (admittedly mostly because I don't want to see a Manc side win the title).

Flashback to when I got kicked by Twitter until I deleted my post describing someone (Dorries, I think) as crackers.

Bhatti by name, Batty by nature.

They may well be the last vestiges of humanity, but the Sun is not going supernova. It isn't large enough.

Indeed, but (in my view) that has a lot to do with the early professionalisation in England and the strength of the relative domestic games. I'm sure this will change. By contrast, I think there is a significantly higher standard of competition for the Lionesses.

I'd say the Lionesses are the greatest English sports team. Apart from that, spot on.

I'd say automatic enrollment was a standout counterpoint to that. I tend to agree, but AE will be significant, probably after I'm dead. A rare example of long-term thinking.

LAD was the first Lizzy I ever owned, and frankly, all the rest was downhill.

But they don't want to pay for it

Is there any evidence that HMT are any good at procurement (admittedly the MOD has been poor for at least 20 years)?

Even better is finding out via a Social Media post. Cheers!

But you'll be incarcerated in one of Khan's Sharia courts, robbed of all your valuables and stabbed to death in the street. Or something.

So Diego Garcia was under threat because of the US base which played a key role in the US/Israel instigated war. Perhaps he is arguing we'd be better off without supplying the US with bases, intelligence and support?

What I like best about it is the reason for rejection is... Repetition.

MattGPT. It is excellent. It won't be outdated but most of all it *really* annoys him.

I do not argue about Trump, but I absolutely can argue with "billionaires are evil". What did Dr Dre ever do to you? Or Roger Federer? Beyoncé is probably the opposite of evil.

Wealth isn't a measure of evil. Actions are.

Sadly, it seems to me that negative messaging is all-pervasive in (at least UK) politics today. "Foreigners are evil", "The Rich are evil", "Europe is evil", "Trump is evil", "Corporations are evil", "Unions are evil".

Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 An Act to make further provision in relation to the powers and duties of the police, persons in police detention, criminal evidence, police discipline and complaints against the police; to provide for arrangements for obtaining the views of the community on policing and for a rank of deputy chief constable; to amend the law relating to the Police Federations and Police Forces and Police Cadets in Scotland; and for connected purposes.

Blame not so much, who is responsible for any given phrase anyway? A history is good. The UK does have something like this at www.legislation.gov.uk where you can get the current law and changes over time - e.g. www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1984/6...
