What’s next? Mount Rushmore becomes Mount Trump-Rushmore? Andrew’s Air Force Base renamed Trump AFB? Camp David relabeled Camp Donald?

It is now apparent that the Senate-passed bill is the Pete Hegseth of policy legislation!

I’m not entirely sure that there won’t be investigations of Trump’s political enemies under one pretext or another. Why not use the resources of the Federal Government to drain the wealth of his opponents and provide a public demonstration of the consequences of not toeing the Trump line?

You provided clear and vital insight and information. I sincerely hope other widely viewed outlets will recognize your talent. They, and their viewers, will benefit immensely.

@maddow.msnbc.com @lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com Have you ever heard anyone say, “Now that I see how Trump is doing his job, I really regret having voted for Harris.”? On the other hand, the expressed regrets for having voted for Trump are piling up!

Those affluent, private-street, golf course dwellers are all about “what’s in it for me?” They lack a shred of empathy. Too bad the tax cuts they will receive won’t ameliorate the many harms this country will suffer and they, eventually, will experience as our position in the world recedes.

Yes. A testament to the creativity of the F&I employees at auto dealerships. They know how to write 84 month loans to achieve “affordable” payments.

Have you ever been to a Trump rally? These people are not “affluent” even for the middle class. They are true believers who genuinely thought the U.S. under the Democrats was plummeting toward the depths of a Communist hellhole.

Isaac Asimov was born on this day in 1920. This quotation from 1980 holds up:

“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States…. [It is] nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’”

He has been able to leverage his ability to command attention in the public square, appeal to a devoted and motivated following, and enlist the support of those who know better to bring him to the pinnacle of power and influence. 2/2

While his ignorance of history, statecraft, and the operation of most executive branch functions is profound; you may be on to something about Donald Trump. 1/2

Over time, Trump will push other nations into forming an anti-US coalition more capable of standing up to his bullying. What choice is he giving them? He's off to a great start, pissing off Mexico, Canada, Panama and the EU a month before he's even inaugurated.

Me too - except most of the women who “follow” me are Asian. What is it with the algorithm that feeds 95% female followers?

We must be vigilant and we must make our voices heard. That said, it does seem we’re swimming against the tide at this moment in history. Nevertheless, we cannot give up hope or lose sight of our vision of a pluralistic and democratic society.

Respectfully, I do not believe the majority of white Americans are evil, though the consequences of their ignorance and gullibility may bring about great harm.

The aggressive ignorance of the incoming administration will do a great deal of harm - resulting in a Democratic romp in the next election cycle.

It could happen. But let BlueSky offer a recent, relevant example. Should Musk seize control of MSNBC, the network’s audience will disappear and reassemble at whatever channel emerges to take its place.

Trump is overreaching big time. People will come to realize they are not getting the help they need. Dems will win big in 2026.

We are already seeing the first signs of Trump’s over-reach. There will be many more, to the detriment of the country and those whose votes pushed him slightly ahead of Harris. D’s will win big in 2026.
