Save the Michael J Fox Theatre

Hey burnaby residents! The Michael J Fox theater, a community theater that hosts youth and local arts programs, is at risk of shutting down on July 1. Community art space in the YVR area is tough enough as it is, but you can help by urging city council to save it! savethemjftheatre.ca

Like, yeah, I could spend 2-3 hours of my day searching for all of the obscure codes the forms are asking for, or I could hire a customs broker, or I could just eat the $70 loss.

At the end of the day, no matter what I do, I'm coming out behind. And I think they know that.

I think my biggest frustration is that these forms feel deliberately impenetrable for small businesses, and that the error amount is just enough to make it not worth it to hire a customs broker to figure out the correct filing.

Yeah! All that's missing are some pictures of mice, rats, and birds, to really compliment his dining experience, lol

Lol boy does he!
Gross little man.

He does this with all of his food and it gets all up the wall and it's nasty and hard to clean 🤢

In an effort to mitigate this, he now has a (dollar-store) feed stall.

Omg XD

Idk what it is about elders breaking rules like this that I find so funny but here we are???

(My 96 year old grandma used to keep a pair of scissors hidden in her nightstand, along with a stash of salt packets, and this was the funniest shit to me)

It's truuuuue 😭

One of my Perfectly Normal and Not Weird at All habits up here is running my hands through the sagebrush and just huffing them XD

Definitely, yeah!

And the perfect weather for it, too!
Once it hits about 25°, the lack of shade is punishing XD

Oops these should be 33, 34, and 35 :')

Eh, Solitude read like a Bible and I'm still salty about it so it can live in a corner on its own.

34.) Fun Home

Without spoiling things, what a hard read. It's an autobiography, and the author focuses on some Rough subjects; it's difficult to read at times. Despite being a graphic novel, it's also a dense read.

(Yes! the author is the creator of the Bechdel Test!)

33.) Heart of Darkness 🎧

A glimpse into colonialist Congo. The writing is good; the story is grim (who'd have thought). I was mixing it up with a different story when I was listening, so was thrown off when parts weren't lining up as expected, which hindered my enjoyment of the literature.

32.) Werewolf: Nest of Serpents (book 4)

I've been working through the series since last year and REALLY stalled out on this one.

You know how some writers can make paint drying sound interesting? This one's the opposite. Definitely a disappointment.

We only just got here, so I'm glad it's started blooming for us!

Today's hike was super neat since we're definitely at the start of the bloom; we noticed them thinning out with the elevation gain!

My favorite hikes are ones that pass through vast expanses of grass and sagebrush, with the sky feeling so close I could reach out and touch it.

Bonus points if it's broody and gray.

And like, most of us probably don't/will never know what our superpowers are because they're so extremely niche and specific and useless.

Like maybe you can cross a specific stream in Pategonia without getting your feet wet, but you'll never visit Pategonia so you'll never know.
