this decision was a compromise. we demonstrate the impact of GWP(20) for the most relevant case (high-emission SMR-CCS is out already with GWP100), while keeping the figure digestable (we actually forgot to put this GWP20 figure in the supplement. we have GWP20 sensitivities for the other figures).
I am super interested in other views.

I am somewhat optimistic due to i) political momentum around methane (e.g. Global Methane Pledge), ii) annual IEA methane tracker and iii) emission thresholds for hydrogen formulated in terms of "lifecycle GHG" (often tbd but e.g. IRA seems to include upstream methane through the 45VH2-GREET model).
