Travel can be so stressful! Travel to Euston. Train late so will miss connection and arrive an hour late. Avanti guard won’t authorise me to stay on this train so had to buy a new ticket for £50 ! What a complete mess and rip off!

Just about to take off but held on ground. London airspace frozen - apparently a total radar failure- could be a long one!

Delighted to help Lancaster BID to brighten up our City!
The donation came from a grant from Northern Rail. The money is being used to fund our contractors, Ashlea, to supply additional plants to brighten up the city centre.

My University is planning to cram 130 humanities/arts PGRs with their own desks into this office which has desks for 30 and which has multiple outstanding H&S defects. We are told it’s all about building community. Yeah right!

Our Community Exchange aims to foster links across history-making spaces-from museums and archives, streets and groups, stage and screen - and to open up dialogue between the many different audiences for social history. We welcome contributions showcasing public history events, as well as think pieces on community history, co-production, or how scholarship can be transformed by conversations beyond the academy.

Have you done some fun work with museums/archives/cultural spaces (anything beyond the academy, essentially) and want to tell people about it? Please do consider writing something for @socialhistsoc.bsky.social’s Community Exchange blog! #SHSConf2025
