Starting July 1 there will be new limits on student loans for MLS students under the limited understanding of what fits as a "professional" degree.
This limit is going to further restrict access to the field.
I haven't seen anywhere near enough discussion of this (truthfully, none) by pro orgs. π

As a rule, there is a reason why Black Twitter did not migrate over to Bluesky en masse.
The reasons are not just cultural. They are also political. We are the bedrock of any politics left of center in this nation, and there is so so so much quiet resentment about that.

It's impolite to call Musk a genocidal white nationalist because "civility" in American discourse functions not as a neutral procedural norm but as an asymmetric weapon to shield the powerful from accurate moral characterization while policing the tone of those who object.
Whatβs wild is people will get snitty if you point out there hasnβt been nearly enough pushback on this.
Can't wait to hear about the ghost tour!
New discourse today, so remember: A) always pause before posting that dunk tweet and look through the rest of the thread; B) lock down interaction settings on controversial topics; and C) the outrage industrial complex is the foundation of social media platforms, but you can choose how you engage.
Ever. Green.
This story is insane. Married an American, arrested at her greencard interview, flown out of state, nearly killed multiple times when her diabetes was ignored and then mistreated. When she finally got out? Found out her credit card had been used illegally. www.daylightsandiego.org/san-diego-wo...
I feel like Andrew is calling us out ππ
This is rude. It's accurate, but it's still rude
I'm based in the Northeast, and I noticed they also love Lake George (NY), the Poconos (PA), and ski towns in NH. Internationally, they like France and Italy. (The jokes write themselves.) Long story short: they do travel, but primarily to MAGA-friendly spaces
Co-signing as someone who just spent four years working for MAGA bosses. They love Florida and they absolutely love a cruise. Nashville and Vegas are also MAGA hotspots
The numbers at the rallies are going to be insane today but remember, if you canβt make it, you are still part of the movement by speaking out and standing up for justice every goddamn day
To everyone protesting thank you!
To those who are working, can't leave the house, or are sick, you are part of the resistance too!
I'm sad I won't be attending any conferences this year π
It's inevitable at this point
seeing people question whether Timmy Chalamet voted for Trump. my dude, that boy couldnβt tell you where his polling place if his life depended on it.
I love the color, but I agree the shoulder pads have to go
Unrelated: this sounds like an amazing conference!
Sobbing in the accuracy π
Notably, trailblazing Black women librarians are excluded. Not to mention, the inclusion of men in a list honoring international women's day is certainly a Choice
If you need me, I'll be over here with @tuphlos.bsky.social side-eyeing this list π

I can't prove it, but my suspicion is that Long Covid affects our driving ability π€
I'm also fascinated by this since it just makes me scratch my head
I regularly check out of BlueSky for about 72 hours and when I come back I'm overwhelmed with the realization that many people I like very much need to check out of BlueSky for about 72 hours
One of the more depressing aspects of the GLP-1 stuff right now is how utterly inescapable it is. Whatever you're doing, wherever you are, there are people shrinking at alarming rates, and endless discussion of said shrinking. There's seemingly no place to just *rest.*
