Starmer kept McSweeney and got rid of Sue Gray. Can't help but think he wouldn't be in this mess if he'd kept Gray and got rid of McSweeney. At the end of the day I think Starmer is likely honest but sadly useless

Eric Clapton onstage at G-Live in Guildford, Surrey, UK
Watched Eric Clapton play in Guildford tonight. It's a step up from Woking Leisure Centre I guess. Pretty good show.
Just subscribed. Cheers.
I had no idea. He really didn't stand a chance, did he? What a waste of a life.
Does this young man have nobidy in his life that can help him access mental healthcare? Anyone that smashes himself in the face with a hammer clearly needs it. Where are his parents? He exudes insecurity which is even more apparent given the casual self confidence of the interviewer.
Nice article. Things had to change for the Nats and I'm glad to see that it's finally happening

The IG algorithm finally showed me some positive content β turns out the chefs of some European embassies have been participating in, what seems to be, a cooking challenge in DC π§βπ³

This is so well done. π
Still working away at Amazing level. Will give it a bit longer. Think I got overconfident having got a pangram as my first word π
At the local tonight and my friend kept making the same joke about the Titanic Plum Porter which was on tap - it goes down well doesn't it?
Sadly for him I was the only one that got it π
Sisu is excellent. I watched it after listening to a @kermodeandmayo.bsky.social film review a couple (?) of years ago.
This week, Brexit finally killed our family business. We cleared out our warehouse, handed back the keys, paid the final bills and said goodbye to our last employee.
What was once a thriving firm died a slow, sad death, all thanks to Farage, Johnson and the gullible idiots they conned. 1/18
The getting to London can count as part of an Interrail pass if you get eg a 5 day pass. Makes things much cheaper.

4-panel comic. (1) [Two people standing next to house with solar panels on roof. Person 2 has a black hat.] PERSON 1: Wait, you got solar panels? I thought you were against renewables. (2) PERSON 2: Oh, definitely. I hate the environment and want to harm it as much as possible. Iβd *love* to have an oil furnace. (3) PERSON 2: But the technology just isnβt there and the cost is too high. I despise solar, but it makes more financial sense in my situation. (4) PERSON 2: But with the money Iβm saving, I can buy and burn industrial waste in my yard to try to make up for it. PERSON 1: Ah, yeah, carbon onsets.

Apropos of nothing, but the Scottish variation of jab is jag. Both perfectly acceptable for use in any human/needle interaction
Maybe someone like Mel Ott? I'm interested to know too. Presumably the only reason it wasn't Soto was down to it being the pandemic season
Got excited for a minute there. London? Check. Baseball? Bugger...
Live the podcast guys. It's one of the main ways that I managed to follow the Nats from the UK (though the Chicago games have been a very convenient start time). Looking forward to the rest of the season even though I think it will be a tough one. Keep up the good work
@megrowler.fangraphs.com Wow. Didn't expect the Scots to catch strays because of Brent Headrick π For the record, haggis is awesome!
Gobsmacked!
Comic. [Person 1 talking to person with bun whose hands are fisted and has steam above her head and a person with a white hat who is facepalming.] PERSON 1: I was able to produce artificial gravity by rotating the ship along its longitudinal axis, helping passengers maintain muscle mass on the long-duration voyage! [caption] Well, the cruise line fired me.

I was in My Lai on 17 March 1998 just after the 30th anniversary. Was genuinely astonished that the local people chose to remember Hugh Thompson and his crew rather than the perpetrators of the massacre. The fact that nobody was really held responsible was a disgrace.
Travelodge apologises that this has hit the press and promises to do the bare minimum so we all stop talking about this again.

Good luck with the surgery. I hope it goes well for you
Attended the recording for a couple of Room101 shows this evening. Enjoyed listening to Paul Merton with his guests Andy Hamilton and Lucy Porter.
This made me chuckle. Back in the day, I actually moved to London for the better weather π
I found 3 today and got genius with 46 words. Where on earth the other 14 are I'll never know.
"It's just a joke"
Invariably this is the mating cry of a complete arsehole.
