The principle is good - it would have allowed us to enforce EU rules about non self supporting EU citizens not staying for more than three months, & as a result possibly fended off Brexit.

But it depends who writes the software & can access the data. Only cleared UK folk, not working for Palantir.

So let me get this right: the British Government wants to raise taxes and spend more on "defence" so it can send fighter jets to defend genocidal Middle Eastern governments when they preemptively attack their neighbours, and those neighbours retaliate?

BBC Newswatch desperately trying to justify their excessive exposure of ReformUK today, but every argument only supports the complaints. Of course, their support will grow if the other parties don't even get the airtime to promote their own policies! Absolutely outrageous bias from the BBC. 😡

By Israel logic; does this not give licence for EU & the UK to bomb indiscriminately into Tel Aviv to retrieve the hostages?

Public ownership of England’s water companies could cost close to zero, says thinktank Exclusive: Common Wealth report argues debt, pollution and underinvestment justify process known as special administration

Which makes government’s refusal to even consider it all the more reckless @weownit.org.uk👇

The Economics of Water - Valuing the Hydrological Cycle as a Global Common Good Water is essential for life. It moves in complex, often invisible ways, all around us. And this water is under threat.

David Attenborough's #OceanFilm reminds us that our oceans are intricately connected to all life on Earth. As the final report of GCEW shows, we must govern the entire hydrological cycle—from oceans to soil—as a global common good. An economics of water must recognise these planetary connections.

Unless the most recent position updates were wrong (they won’t have been) I don’t believe Madleen could have reached Israeli waters by the time she was boarded.

In which case this is an act of piracy on a British vessel.

@eddavey.libdems.org.uk please raise in HoC and with PM directly.

They’re not behaving as if they’re in a four-year term.

They’re behaving as if they’re in an everlasting dictatorship.

Are we all clear on this?

Why the UK’s electricity costs are so high – and what can be done about it From nationalising gas plants to boosting renewables, how soaring prices could be tackled

"It is down to Britain’s reliance on gas". Again, @theguardian.com , you mean England's reliance on gas. With Westminster setting prices for Scotland based on England's energy reliance, we pay far more than is necessary.

Yup. Scotland produces the cheapest electricity in Europe, yet pays the very high electricity bills that the UK decides. Scotland is subsidising England's electricity bills.

A tactic used by unionists on twitter for many years, and now becoming much more common on BlueSky, is for them to tie up indy supporters in pointless hair-splitting arguments. It's a waste of our valuable campaigning time. Resist the impulse to do it. If you manage this, tell me how.

Wow--the collapse of Europeans visiting the USA in one search. Mid June is usually one of the busiest and most expensive times of the year to travel from London to New York. I just went and did a search, and economy fares are widely available for fewer than £400.

The super rich are “hoovering up” Norfolk land Italian counts, Dubai royals, and German heirs now own swathes of Norfolk. Family farms can’t compete

Why are Cayman-registered companies getting UK farm subsidies?

Norfolk’s biggest landowners include foreign billionaires exploiting loopholes while farmers lose their land.

The North Bridge’s cast iron façade is one of the most impressive elements of the Category A Listed Structure.

These images show some of the expert work that we're carrying out to ensure that this piece of Edinburgh's heritage is preserved for future generations.
