nope, sonic in my AU has total amnesia and even changed his persona as he hated being constantly associated as ''sonic'' by others and have massive responsibilities put on his shoulders without even knowing who he was.
In canon however he still remembers the events of unleashed, unlike 06.

they probably consider him as an equivalent to the big foot. seeing as not even sonic himself remembers his past at all it would definitely settle it as some sort of stupid urban legend people made up back in the day to spook kids.
