Oranges are down too.

Was a rough night for the blossoms with the wind and rain 🌧️ 🌸
I’ve spotted a few tanuki in the area recently but wasn’t quick enough with my camera. They seem to appear on the hottest summer days, during the rare snowfall in Tokyo, and when the blossoms are falling. And they’re very curious. I saw this one down my street around this time last year.

Katakuri (Erythronium japonicum) are rare purple wildflowers in Japan, often called “spring fairies” for their brief, delicate bloom, late March to early May.
We get elderly folks wandering on the "No Entry"/"危険" path behind my house, and my dog, Kocho (Flathead), blows a gasket.
For a few weeks each year they open a section of the park behind my house. People come from all over to see the katakuri (fawn lily) flowers. Apparently rare in Tokyo. The rest of the year it stays locked.
