Young Jedi, Democratic elected leaders should use their platform to sway national public opinion, and earn votes. That is their job. Communicate the stark reality and offer a vision that resonates with voters. Motivate more people to witness this crisis and vote for sanity. This is what leaders do.

ORGANIZE! Build a coalition. Identify surrogates who love attention to get on TV every day. Have a rapid response team of competent communicators (like Colbert's writers for example). Coordinate messaging among all stakeholders in the coalition and communicate forward thinking actions. Earn votes!!
