Five of ten "Rights" of man Published in Paris by H.G. Wells in 1940. Translated from a German article that was probably suppressed in Germany (my guess). In today's world I'd like to think that "man" was intended to mean "human being." Too bad we can't ask Wells.
Published April, 1940 in Magazine Digest: "A far greater threat to democracy than a 3rd term is the time-honored expedient of dragging red herrings across the trail to obscure the real issues of a political contest."

There's a whole lot riding on what was started in October, 1957 when the Russians put a tiny satellite in orbit. After that fateful day, it became clear that the survival of humans depended on cooperation, not so much on competition.
