“Your mother was an incredible woman, taught me everything that I know today including discipline and patience. I met your father a few times and he was a good man, like difficult but a good man.”
Rey smiles at Astrid “I don’t know if this is weird to say but I miss how tough your mom was on me.”
“I can understand you feeling that way. Your mom was an amazing woman and I know that she would be so proud of the person that you have become if that makes you feel better.”
Rey eventually turns her head toward Astrid and smiles “And I am sorry about my sarcasm earlier. I’m too sassy sometimes.”
Rey laughs softly and nods her head and then Rey turns her head to Astrid “But you know that it isn’t healthy to work all the time, right?”
Rey exhales softly and then takes a sip of her drink “All I am saying is you don’t have to go on vacation but you should take the weekend off work.”
Rey laughs softly seeing Astrid’s reaction especially because Rey actually found Astrid’s reaction and the Rey changes from laughing and instead just smiles at Astrid.
“I know that you don’t think I am a loser and besides I always work on my “vacation” I don’t think they count for that reason.”
“He will never be able to live that down because either you will remind him or I will remind him though it is rather funny seeing the same expression every time it is mentioned.”
Rey looks over at Astrid now “You know that technically makes me a loser because I’ve had plenty of random vacations”
Rey walked up beside Astrid, there so that she can grab a drink of her own though it might actually become two as it is pretty warm today.
“You know that you work yourself way too hard. What you need is vacation days, it’ll do you some good Astrid and yes I am in fact lecturing you right now.”
