@jasonschreier.bsky.social Something I was wondering about since you tend to hear about stuff within companies, have you heard about the rumor that the Rayman remake Ubisoft is working on is a remake of Rayman Legends? What do you think about it?
Spent some more time on a shader to help the player and enemies read more clearly, and also adjusted their lighting to make them more visible and nicer to look at, some more tweaks are needed #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #UE5 #indiedev #gaming #unrealengine #blender #unrealengine5
And they’re both by Ubisoft.
Top 10s can still happen throughout the year if the inspiration surfaces but for now, the series is on hiatus until 2027 when we attempt to discover the greatest game soundtrack of all time!
The final weekly Top 10 is now live! Let’s see how the Star Fox series ranks amongst our audience! Just how much will they shock @jon.gvg.io and @ash.gvg.io? youtu.be/y32dm8lGSEc?...
The reason this matters is that "Imagine Dragons released a live-service game" makes it seem like a cashgrab, but that does not appear to be the story here. These guys are lifelong gamers. The lead singer programs and releases his own iOS games as a hobby, without telling anyone!
Since this post is aggregating my Bloomberg column, I kinda feel the need to clarify that the Imagine Dragons game is not "live-service" (designed for recurring monetization). It's a $15 multiplayer shooter with no microtransactions.
Here's the original article: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...
I thought my UI looked a little bland, so I added this glow effect when the cursor gets close to clickable UI objects!
You can change the intensity, mask and color. It's subtle so it doesn't compromise on contrast. What do you think? 👀

Guess that’s something he inherited from you.
I designed a few levels for my game. Each of these three teaches you a different mechanic. Also, the explosions can now kill you. #ScreenshotSaturday #pixelart #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame #GameMaker
Art depicts a paintover of Alix's vtubey in Klonoa's Phantasy Reverie art for Klonoa 2. Alix's Twitch emote of Klonoa's head is amongst some text, and the background is from Klonoa Phantasy Reverie's cover. Text reads: "You're invited to Alix's B-day Bash! Playing Klonoa 2 Phantasy Reverie! Wednesday, April 22nd. Starts at 9am MT/8am PT Twitch.TV/Alixesque"
🎉 You're invited to my Birthday Bash!! 🥳 My bday is actually the 19th, but I'll be playing Klonoa 2's Phantasy Reverie edition on Wednesday, April 22nd on my Twitch @ 9am MT/8am PT!! 🎂 Come grab a slice of virtual cake and celebrate with a big Alix favey!!! Hope to see you there 💖✨
This is looking nice. Did you use baked lighting, global illumination, or neither?
free vertical scrolling section, linking multiple routes together #gamedev
Just FYI, it doesn’t seem to play like either of those games and plays for like Super robot Wars.
Is this over Tom Henderson leaking Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynched?
Xbox used to hold a ‘second’ summer showcase for press, briefing less sexy news, like backcompat upgrades and that sort of thing. Media received the briefing in advance so they could plan stories and cover news properly. One year it leaked online – they never did it again. That content doesn't exist
For anyone who breaks agreement and shares info in Discord, to your special sources or whatever: it's damaging, to all. Developers think twice about speaking to press / creators. Then
the considered coverage we were able to build is replaced with more rat race slop. And for what?
Not commenting on anything in particular, but I kind of despair that, in an already struggling games media landscape, it's now a given that any broad pre-brief will 100% be leaked online for clout. Are PRs just not bothering to police this? Are young creators/press missing mentorship?
G-MODE Archives+ Namco Chronicle announced for Switch, PC
G-MODE will release Namco-developed game Namco Chronicle as a G-MODE Archives+ title for Switch via Nintendo eShop and PC via Steam in Japan, the company announced. A release date was not announced.
Currently, I'm making a video game, Artifact Ninja! It's a unique take on the 3D platformer genre; a collect-a-thon/search-action hybrid (think Super Mario Odyssey meets Metroid). It's being made in Godot.
If you want to keep updated on the game's progress, feel free to follow this account!
still working on optimization
smol update: i've learned to 'cut' the beam using materials only, so it uses gpu and is almost free

I’ve been experimenting with shaders to give the player an outline and a subtle light so the character stands out more. I am going to test different ways to make the player easier to read #WishlistWednesday #videogames #indiedev #UnrealEngine5 #gamedev #gaming #blender
One minor thing, though, is that the developer said on his Patreon that RTV isn’t the “ultimate stress test” for the engine because it’s non-PBR realism, plus the levels are small.
Added an options menu. Side-note: Never use multiple managers for your pause menu and game settings. #GameMaker #pixelart #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev

Wow! This reminds me of the HD2D games by Square-Enix. It looks good.
Sonic catches some air off a rail jump while running through a city.
The Master Emerald, miraculously in one piece, at the Cannon's Core.
A couple more for you!
Sonic Adventure 2 (2001)
Sonic speeds away from a pair of G.U.N. soldiers on the Space Colony ARK.
A seaside city built on a hill with boats drifting in the foreground. It looks like a perfect escape.
Sonic blazes towards a path of rings in Green Forest.
A winding railroad path between the Pumpkin Hills.
What you see is what you get, just some never-before-seen pieces of concept art!
Sonic Adventure 2 (2001)
No. He was getting it from a guy who had access to the eShop backed.
