Okay, Skybrarians, I shouldn’t have to say this, but: Banned Books Week starts next week, and this is a friendly reminder that you should NOT shorten it in any of your posts or copy to “BBW”.

oh my god there was a sequel??
So are you an epic-tier troll, or do you legit just not have a soul?
that was my thought through all three posts.
They literally coached the thing through every tiny iterative step, then still had to 'pick good panels' (god, imagine the bad ones) because AI is almost as worthless as this cretin.

we are entering a very dark and very very foolish era of the Internet
Anyone who has ever made commercial art will tell you "everyone" is not a target demographic.
Make your art as specific as you can and don't water it down for anyone. Find your audience.
ok i dont mean to overstep but you've been cheering this campaign along like a freaking champ of a midwife, and i do NOT intend to be a downer, but if it doesn't get there, it is Not Your Fault. You've done so much great work promoting! Just... be emotionally safe, ok?
I saw the mulch attempt at Calvin and Hobbes. It is Anti-Life. And the dude was proud of it, so proud of his little chunk of anathema, so proud that he typed some words and had a program spit out this cursed content.
We live in a fallen, cursed world.
"We weren't banning anything! We were just talkin- hey that was a PRIVATE CONVERSATION HOW DARE YOU LISTEN IN!!"

Solano County, CA: Charcoal is desperately searching for a CH cat savvy forever home, preferably with no other cats, or one or two calm/older cats. She has moderate-severe cerebellar hypoplasia and uses washable pee pads as she cannot use a litter box.

I’ve been told, “But why get a ramp when no one in a wheelchair ever comes here?” not once but *twice* in bookshops. ♿️ Followed by the ever-popular, “But it’s just a *small* step…” 🙄
I'm not sayin I told y'all, but I fuckin said it from the start. Privacy is a pipe dream with those things.
I liked "skeet" more than I like this idea of "discourse." Skeet's got a greasiness to it, a tacit acknowledgment of the bad takes and dick pics lurking close to the surface. Discourse implies some level of civil formality, which is wildly amusing in context.

Oh and btw the solution to "not everyone has the time to dedicate to art, you classist" is not "AUTOMATE ALL THE THINGS AND DON'T PAY ARTISTS" it's "VALUE ALL LABOR SO THAT PEOPLE ARE PAID FAIRLY AND CAN LIVE AND MAKE ART IF THEY WANT YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE"
oh nooo, baby is so scared. thank you for being awesome!
my first celebrity crush. Princess Bride ruined me for ordinary men.
Liz Hand's Wylding Hall - one of the absolute best gothic horror books ever - is on sale today for $1.99 at Amazon (which means probably other places as well, if they're not your thing). It is unbelievably good: amzn.to/3rHepYG (affiliate link)

"they haven't lost their library, its just closed" is the shittiest mealy-mouthed bullshit take.
Today I'm working on my own projects instead of for capitalist overlords, so I'm pretty ok with it
