Dealing with the quirks of protocols and generics in Swift has been one of the more challenging things to get used to coming from C#.

I'm almost 4 years into it and I still sometimes try to make the square peg fit into the round hole, haha.

I have been doing that when possible.

Alas, I still run into the problem when I'm doing some domain-specific refinements of SwiftUI's View, among other things.

I have a love-hate relationship with protocols in Swift.

Especially when associated types are added in and you get the wonderfully confusing: "any SomeProtocol cannot conform to SomeProtocol" compilation error.

I know why it happens, but gdi 😮‍💨

I guess I'm doing concrete type-erasure. Again.

Actually, now that I think about it, the spliced in section _was_ the drum break, or at least an extension to it.

Gd this was so long ago, haha

Because of differences between FL Studio and Logic, we couldn't get the effects chains to match exactly, so we cross faded to the spliced in new part and then serendipity of awesomeness happened.

And then we did it again at the drum break deliberately because it was awesome.
