I'm thrilled to announce a new report I wrote with @ksavin.bsky.social and @calliefreitag.bsky.social on the impact of DOGE/Trump 2.0 turmoil on Social Security disability programs.
As the title says, these programs have always been tough to navigate. But in the last year, they've gotten worse.
What makes you sure the next time around, when you say “THIS is the REAL solution”, that they’ll actually believe you? Sorry to sound trite, but honesty is important! because eroding trust is very expensive
& 2) doesn’t affect voter support in the future. People might be misunderstood about what causes their housing woes, but they CAN tell when their rent goes up. You tell them what they want to hear, pass a policy, doesn’t do much…
This sounds nice, but the more I think about it the more I think it ignores trade offs and public trust at a fundamental level. It implies that passing policy that we think is not beneficial (but not harmful) 1) doesn’t affect the appetite for/budget of political capital for other, better policies.

I don’t think that’s a general econ thing, I can’t imagine caring that strongly about font and you’re clearly both working in the same software 🤷♀️
Because we mostly draft in latex and I let everything go to default lol (double space for comments though)
My kingdom for a monster of the week show with 20 episodes a season, compelling characters, and a cozily well-built world.

My last (and first ever) one sat for like 2 months I think? I actually reached out to their service people to see if I had done something wrong(they assured me I hadn’t), and then the person approved it
I hit the paywall, can someone spoil it for me?
