As far as I know it's only English localizers that decide to throw out perfectly serviceable English scripts in favor of ideology and agenda, so jp companies can keep outsourcing for other languages and do English translations

Good translation is a faithful and honest translation of the creators words and intention. I think a lot of people get mad when localization seems to inject their own message or adjust for cultures. AI is constantly improving and can be a much more 1:1 loyal adaptation, which respects fans more.
