Yes, it truly is. Even in London, the schools which are selective (or have say, 15% selective outside of a tiny, posh, catchment area) are basically impossible to get into unless you tutor your kid from day 1. And people do, to enormous expense. They are, in effect, like private schools.

I don't think in reality we're badly short in any area. It's just it will always feels that way when 13 players are out injured. Squad size is limited, and we've been full - over full for UCL, in fact.
Of course you can argue about quality, but that's a different point when we're talking quantity.
Nice. Worth noting the goals have fallen off a cliff in a season - the first for seemingly ever - that we've had a squad with 3 recognised senior strikers (albeit who've had spells out).
I don't buy the easy refrain that Lange is to blame for leaving us unprepared. It's just too simple.
I like the guy, but I see no evidence for most of that. Would the players respond to him? I'm not sure they would. They'd need to work out who he is first. I say all that with sadness because it'd be a great story if he saved us.
