I’m sure Trump has put the US in a very strong bargaining position by issuing two ultimatums with hard deadlines only to back down both times after Iran called his bluff.

That may help the stock market in the short term, but the strait of Hormuz will remain in the hands of the Iranians, who could close it at any time by a mere threat. That’s no way for a global economy to function.

The strong take what they can, and they may not be held accountable by other nations, international bodies, or even the citizens; but alas, nothing is without consequences- even for the strong. Such actions weaken us as a nation, both at home and abroad.
Every presidential administration gets accused of corruption—sometimes with good reason, sometimes not. But the corruption of the Trump administration is of a magnitude that is not only without precedent in American history but so large and brazen as to be difficult to wrap one's head around.

Wasn’t there an absolute outcry from the left (as well as center) when Trump came in and defunded NPR, PBS, and other perceived left leaning institutions? Can you imagine if he tried to suspend their license, replace their leadership, or anything along those lines? I’d be careful about that stuff.

Inspiring, but also a reality check for Americans opposed to Trump. If that’s what it takes to rid yourself of a would-be autocrat - that level of overwhelming opposition and national unity, we are a long way from that. Trump’s floor of ~30% seems unbreakable.
It also means Trump is now willing to put the U.S. navy directly within range of Iranian missiles and drones. So prepare for more casualties.
