🌎✨ #KhipuX #AI #Bioimaging

Empowering the next generation of bioimaging experts! 🌎
After many months crafting the Lightsheet Image Analysis Workshop 2026 with @bruvellu.bsky.social & @cuencam15.bsky.social. Seeing students finally crack their toughest project data on day 5 made every hour of prep worth it! 🧵👇
Thank you very much @hernanmn.bsky.social for taking care of the organization!!!
Whether you’re in Quito or joining online, join us! Let’s make bioimage analysis accessible! 🤝🌎

It will be a 3-day event dedicated to democratizing AI for Bioimage and Medical Imaging in Latin America. My goal is to help build a strong, supportive community. 🧵 (1/3)
course schedule as a table. Available at the link in the post.
I'm teaching Statistical Rethinking again starting Jan 2026. This time with live lectures, divided into Beginner and Experienced sections. Will be a lot more work for me, but I hope much better for students.
I will record lectures & all will be found at this link: github.com/rmcelreath/s...

Thrilled to have presented @globias.bsky.social at the @latambioimaging.bsky.social Meeting last week! 🇦🇷🔬
I really enjoyed sharing our mission in both a lightning talk and with a poster. It was fantastic to connect with so many passionate bioimaging scientists!
Let's keep building this community!
Gemini was used to remove people from the picture.
Wrapping up an amazing day at the @latambioimaging.bsky.social meeting! Honored to witness the presentation of the Honoris Causa degree to the legendary Carlos Bustamante. A truly inspiring way to conclude today's events. 👏

Incredible kickoff by Lia Pietrasanta at the @latambioimaging.bsky.social meeting! Fantastic insights into microscopy in the region. Ready for an inspiring week!

We just hit 10 workshops submitted, with almost two weeks to go! Help us get to 20 before the last-day frantic mad dash? Teach your favorite tool today!
Time to implement this entire model! Focusing on accessible training and an open-source stack to truly democratize high-end quantitative imaging here. Where should we start?
I would love to work as an imaging scientist! Gaining traction from the synergy between image acquisition, robust analysis, and system modeling is the most exciting frontier. It's the difference between being a step in a pipeline and understanding the experiment and system under study.
Individual labs have natural turnover (grads, post-docs). When that specialized knowledge walks out, who holds it? The facility staff. We are the necessary knowledge buffer, stabilizing expertise, protocols, and best practices for the long haul. Thank you @ahklemm.bsky.social for teaching me this!!
I presented my views on Facilities at the 🔬Democritizing #Microscopy in LatAm #BiologistsWorkshops!
Facilities aren't just equipment hubs; they also hold the Institutional Memory.
You can find the slides with notes 👇: doi.org/10.5281/zeno...
And a summary below!🧵
Getting so many experts from across Latin America in one room was truly transformative. The conversations and connections made here are the foundation for a much stronger, collaborative future for #Bioimageing in our region.
