I’ve seen mixed views on it. Seen quite a few Villa fans saying he was never great as a 6, and needed to play alongside a six so he could do less of the defensive stuff.
Yeah even just his age and physicality suit us better, but probably an expensive option. Loan with option would be good rather than having to commit.
When you look up Douglas Luiz scouting report from 23/24 season on FBref the suggested list of similar players includes James Ward-Prowse.
Very similar numbers for goal / assists / shot creation in that season. Where they differ is ball carrying & defensive style.
