A year ago today, we had a really terrible election night, and because I know how people fall into despair I sat down at 11pm and wondered what I could tell you. I told you:

Snap to objects (EX / PRO) You can now snap to other objects when moving or transforming vector layers, rulers, text, and more. Snapping is available when using the Object sub tool, Light table sub tool, Control point sub tool, and the Text tool or commands under the Edit menu > Transform. You can access snapping settings from the Sub Tool Detail palette > Enable snapping. When turned on, you can move and transform objects while snapping to other objects or the canvas grid.

If you use #CSP and have favorite v3-4 updates not to be missed, LMK! Because I cannot read all these pages right now 😵‍💫

I'm seeing this from different people: "We must experiment with these tools to understand them and our place in the industry in the future." I hear coming from the Trojan horse. They weren't built with the idea of keeping artists on these projects, they were built as replacements and to save on the "bottom line". Gen ai and llms are used currently as replacements, and they're just going to get better. No experimenting needed dudes, they are designed so that a 2 year old can use them, if you know how to photobash youll be able to learn this workflow in 30 minutes if you so desperately needed to. Refusing to use them is standing in solidarity with the thousands affected and more so stolen from. Using them is crossing an active picket line and breathing life into a future where you no longer create art for media, you assist ai until the corporate machine no longer needs you to assist it. This issue is so much larger than the arts. We were just the canaries in the coal mine. We have the ability to stand firm on this and create the industry and world we wish to live in, not one we are forced to by people with interests directly harming our existence. I owe too much of my own life to art and what it has brought me in my darkest times than to capitulate.
