I was deposed pretty early in my career, and was represented by a far more seasoned attorney. At the first break, I asked, "How am I doing?" Him: "Shut the fuck up. I better hear nothing but 'yes, no, or I don't recall.' I don't wanna be here all fucking day." Spot on advice.
It took me a beat to realize that she's bought into the party line that immigrants to this country are "bad" and she is "good" for reporting them. The belief is so deeply internalized that she acts upon it without any regard for the consequences to this tiny child. It's truly like Nazi Germany.
Listening to this was so painful. That woman is jaw droppingly cruel.
It's not unusual for local codes to require bollards in parking lots to prevent cars from intruding into buildings. I would think it depends upon the configuration of the parking lot/building in this situation.
The legal profession gives thanks for seeing the consequences of their own actions. Earned, deserved, and appropriate.
LOLZ, if men got menopause, they'd get an immediate and unquestioned prescription for ADHD meds, sleeping pills, and hormone replacement. It would be the standard of care.
In the same way that Trump brought us no law just vibes, we can now experience no money just vibes.
But let's not lose sight of why - because it impacted his family. His daughter is gay. If she wasn't, I sincerely doubt that Dick Cheney would have shown one iota of empathy for same sex couples seeking marital equality.
Scalia and Thomas will take a page out of Speaker Johnson's playbook and claim they just didn't see the blatant lawlessness.
I love this idea!
I didn't actually need more reasons to not live in Texas, but I'll put snakes on the list anyway.
DOGE probably decided admin staff was unnecessary (laughs in lawyer who knows she’d be screwed without staff)
This is really important. I was recently talking to folks in Chicago who said that much as they fear ICE detaining children without due process, they worry even more that child traffickers will don their same masks and do even worse.
The litigation preservation letters from plaintiffs' lawyers are going to kill a lot of trees.
You read this as a human and are outraged, then you read it as a lawyer and think, "Unfortunately, it appears her name is not Bivens."
My husband was detained by ICE today
Juan Muñoz, an American citizen, father of 2, and local government official, was peacefully protesting w. other elected officials. He was assaulted and taken away

Thoughts and prayers for Constitutional Law Professors and Bar Examiners trying to figure out what constitutes unreasonable searches and seizures these days.
And they will do it without a blush. As someone who was raised Catholic, I am continually astonished by the total lack of shame shown by the right wing Catholics on the court. It's amazing, and not in a good way.
Well, it does give legal writing professors material for “what not to do….”
As somebody who tried their first federal jury trial in front of Judge Alsup less then 5 years into my practice, I can assure that when he is mad, he will let you know.
We don't yet have any idea what the ideology of the Kirk shooter was.
But we do know that the Denver school shooter was a far-right white supremacist.

Sure - don't just add the Keystone Cops to the mix, put them in charge on the ground. If the killer wasn't already feeling good about his odds, this will do the trick.
Of course, they literally added the hooks when I starting going purse free using a phone wallet. 😒
And not to be ageist, but a candidate under the retirement age. Please and thank you.
I got mine once I crossed 50 years old. I will never forget having to suspend a court trial when OC came down with shingles ... in her eye. IN HER EYE. She said the pain was indescribable, she could only lay in a dark room popping codeine.
I completely believe this to be true. You could understand if they are a replacement tenant and the shopping center wasn't meant for that level of traffic ... but their new stores are similarly afflicted. It's a feature, not a bug.
Oh DAMN. As a 57 year old who grew up north of Boston and moved to SF in my 20s, I missed decades of eating Korean food. It’s so good.
