I run a bi-weekly Dungeons and Dragons game for my son and some of his friends. Here's three things I learned over the years:
1) Kids will often surprise you with their creative solutioning.
2) They're not afraid to challenge a plot hole in the game.
3) Hearing they had fun is the best feeling!

I generally avoid talking politics here, but my blood is boiling right now. The official White House website has an entire page attempting to rewrite the history of what happened on January 6. It is an Orwellian attempt to change history and is absolutely disgusting.

We know the truth.

It's New Year's Eve, and as usual I have been reflecting on this past year. It's certainly been... interesting.

2026 is a clean slate with infinite possibilities. I wish good things for you all in the upcoming year.

Happy New Year's Eve everyone!

On Christmas Eve I think it's apropos to offer a hearty "Merry Christmas" to everyone. Not everyone celebrates Christmas, but I think everyone can benefit from the warm wishes and good cheer that statement implies.

So Merry Christmas everyone, may your holiday season be bright, merry, and joyous!

Judging by recent polls, the odds are not in his favor. I fully expect this to be as sad and pathetic as that military parade nobody watched.

Edge has significant advantages over Internet Explorer. As an example, when I am configuring a new installation of Windows, Edge downloads Chrome much faster than I.E. did.

Love it or hate it, A.I. is here and it's not going anywhere. Personally, I'm not into the whole "vibe coding" craze, it's more of a supplement to Google. It saves me a ton of time searching for an answer to a question. Thinking on this got me wondering, how do you use A.I. in your daily workflow?

Had a thought about housing in #WorldofWarcraft. I think it would be cool to find your other characters just hanging out chilling in your house. Just acting as background NPCs to add that extra touch of awesome to something that's already pretty cool. *gives @blizzard.com the side eye*

Pro Tip: Your resume should be a living document. Keep it regularly updated even if you're not currently looking for a new opportunity. That way you won't have to spend time trying to remember all the great things you did in your current role.

Been playing #WoW pretty much since day 1, and I feel this new player housing feature is an incredible, but natural, progression for the professions mechanics. I finally feel like crafting professions can actually be useful.

Got access to the #WorldofWarcraft #Midnight beta and been playing with the new player housing feature over the last few days... It went live yesterday, but overall color me impressed! I was not expecting the level of customization that's available and some of the UI elements just make sense! #wow

I got to thinking about D&D and realized that there are skills there that translate well to business. If you think about it, a DM is essentially a project manager where the "project" is the game.

This naturally led me to wondering what else holds professional value far beyond the activity itself?

100%… Lots of cool stuff to learn but too much to be an expert on everything. Started just focusing on what I needed to do my job plus one or two extras, now I can save my stress for other things. :)

Today I'm thinking about what I have to be thankful for. Friends, family, my followers here... I'm grateful to you all. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The Curious Case of the Bizarre, Disappearing Captcha While puzzling captchas—from dogs in hats to sliding jockstraps—still exist, most bot-deterring challenges have vanished into the background.

I still remember the days of trying to decide if that tiny piece of a bicycle handle bar still counts as a "bicycle" in the captcha prompt. What are your thoughts on captcha falling into the background?

As developers, what is your go-to editing application for writing code? I tried a bunch in my early days of development (even Notepad), but ultimately settled on VS Code for most of my coding needs, and Visual Studio for working with .NET coding. I'm curious, what is your code editing preference?

Fellow developers... just for fun and nostalgia... what was the first programming language you learned? For me it was either HTML or Java depending on if you count HTML as a language. I don't consider myself a Java programmer though, it's been a long time since I coded with it in college. :)

Vibe coding and the future of software development Tech leaders weigh in on vibe coding: What it is, what it’s not, and how to use it safely in production software.

An interesting article on where Vibe Coding fits within the current and future paradigm of software development. Much like any other tool, it has its pros and cons... application security and intellectual property being two major concerns.

If you are new to Fiverr like me don't fall for this scam. Yesterday I was contacted by a "client" who claimed they needed my email to complete their order. They don't... turns out it's a common scam. No real harm done other than a bruising of my ego, but lesson definitely learned!
