The two thugs (Yolandi and Ninja) who "raise" Chappie are two unconventional characters who represent two halves of humanity. Yolandi is sincerity and kindness, while Ninja is aggression and manipulation.
It's a neat part of the film that I've noticed.
Saw 'Chappie' last night.
It's R-rated grungy deconstruction of the "learn to be human" story most robot films use, while also affectionately homaging it. The CGI used for the robots is pretty good.
The film's a little corny and not for everyone, but it is for some, and one of those is me.
