Pay in cash and avoid the “the machine is going to ask you some questions” dance.

I use the mobile web app when I need to check something. No app, and I can sign out to reduce temptation.

Hired a guy to help me with landscaping a few years back and he goes into this rant about how millennials are lazy and no one wants to work. I just said “Bro, I’m a millennial and I’ve been working with a mortgage for 20 years. 😐”

A diagram labelled pride versioning

A version number of 2.7.123 is shown

A line pointing to the 2 describes it as “proud version, bump when you are proud of the release”

A line pointing to the 7 calls it “default version. Just normal/okay releases”

A line pointing to the 123 calls it the “shame versions. bump when fixing things too embarrassing to admit”

That severance episode makes me feel like I gotta go rewatch the whole dang show again with this new info. 🤯

Cars will need fewer screens and more buttons to earn five-star safety rating in Europe Euro NCAP will release new testing guidelines in 2026.

Next year, the EU will require cars to have buttons & dials -- not just touchscreens -- to get a top safety rating.

This is a great move. Drivers can fiddle with knobs & buttons without taking their eyes off the road, but they can't do that with touchscreens.

(Even better: Tesla will hate this)

I’m having more success getting an LLM to write codemods that I can repeat over a large code base than to have them do the changes directly.

Pretty sure I have an orange(maybe all citrus?) allergy. I was talking with my wife about how oranges kinda made my mouth feel prickly/hot and discovered that’s maybe not normal.

This is a recent learning and I think I’m still gonna eat an occasional orange. Hasn’t killed me yet?

We moved during the 2010 flood. I was disconnected and so busy I had NO CLUE the chaos that was happening.

Do we have any ideas on timing for Tuesday?

A good pun is its own reword.

Wait, is there a new season of Battlebots?! I just looked a few weeks back and didn’t see dates/times.

I kinda barely remember the ending. I definitely need to rewatch before starting S2!

The only answer is to swap to brother printers. It’s the only brand I’ve had last longer than a year. We have a one toner and one inkjet. They are old. I just feed them ink(or toner) and they keep working.

You could probably make a similar guide from some scrap ply too.

The edge banding does make a huge difference. Here’s how the banding looks on the shelves of our pantry. (Ignore the drawers, they still need faces.)

Right Angle Sanding Block by JimB | Download free STL model | Printables.com Similar to the many sandpaper holders out there, but this one adds a right-angle guide | Download free 3D printable STL models

Oh yeah, I bet that would be tricky. I’m not sure it has to be perfect, but close.

You have a 3d printer? You could print something like this to help get a good 90° www.printables.com/model/358655...

Looks good! Throw some edge banding on there to make it look like solid boards.

MS SQL is case insensitive, so this isn’t an issue for me day to day. I can see how this would be infuriating otherwise.

Just finished The Anthropocene Reviewed. I’ll resist the tractor beam pull to provide a star rating.

Instead, I’d just like to thank you for writing it. I enjoyed the read and I hope that means more than any amount of stars could.

This is a great idea! Every time I get in the floor to exercise, my dog is always up in my face.

Don’t forget to spend hours watching people demonstrate their journaling systems and reading different journal reviews.

(This advice based on my last three attempts at restarting journaling. 😂)

Ketchup + mustard and you could have said it was a cheeseburger flavored soup. 🙃

There was this pizza and grinder place near us that had the best sandwiches. They went out of business and I haven’t had one since that is as good as that place made them.
