Hey @nytimes.com, I already reported this earlier this week.

And the G650s you mention? I reported on those in FEBRUARY.

You credit NBC News and WSJ for first reporting parts of your story. Please credit me, too.

We love Ibbotson, all her books! I think we still have those, somewhere, and they're definitely worth revisiting. They are so warm and wonderful. Between Two Fires sounds great too, glad it's back in print

These look fabulous too, especially the Attolia books. YA, not YA, we don't care. A great book is a great book at any age. Thank you, this has really helped me a lot :)

I know none of these writers, how fabulous (for both of us, I'm gonna have to read all of them too.)

@kellylink.bsky.social could you point me at books for my soon to be 18-yr-old daughter (her current obsession: The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet; her perennial fave: Cynthia Voigt's A Solitary Blue). She loves good writing and is partial to a graphic novel too. I need some inspiration!

This was a really good one, helped me understand why things are so hard. The social contract is broke and we are too.

A springtime show about the economy that partly explains why we feel ashamed — Rumble Strip This is a conversation with a money manager in Scotland who has given a great deal of thought to why many of us feel confused and ashamed about our financial lives.

Here's a conversation with a listener in Scotland about why so many of us feel ashamed of our financial lives in todays economy. It is a reaction to recent class episodes from @vermontpublic.org, and I ask dumb questions for the sake of all people like me. www.rumblestripvermont.com/episodes/a-s...

What I love about the NYT is that to them, everything is possible. Maybe AI is alive. Maybe Republicans aren't racist. Maybe the new war in the middle east is good actually. Maybe a FEMA agent teleported (magically OR WITH SCIENCE, haters) to a waffle house. We don't know! Facts aren't real things!

Remembering Calvin Tomkins, a Master of the Profile For nearly seventy years, he captured the lives of modern artists for The New Yorker.

This is horrifying. As someone who lives in Greater Manchester, I'd love to know what school this was?

‘We live in this paradox, and it has a deep contradiction. You’re creating big cities, creating great images for the young Arab people, creating an environment that they’d love to live in – but you don’t want to give them freedom.’

The whole "it's here, accept it, it's already in your life, you can't stop it, it's happening & actually you being unable to remove it (bc we designed it like that) is proof you want ir" techbro chat is pure & utter rape script. Nothing but.

in public, the men's hockey team has been supportive of the women's team, going to games, cheering them on, saying they were inspired by the OT golden goal
must be gutting to feel that support and then get first-hand evidence that behind closed doors, when it's just The Boys, they're laughing at you

This is how enjambment can work in a poem. Bridge 77 on the Macclesfield Canal allows a horse to cross the canal without having to untie it from the canal boat.

Virginia Woolf Diary

Tuesday 30 December
What it wants is presumably unity; but it is I think rather good (I am talking to myself over the fire about The Waves). Suppose I could run all the scenes together more? - by rhythm, chiefly. So as to avoid those cuts; so as to make the blood run like a torrent from end to end - I dont want the waste that the breaks give; I want to avoid chapters; that indeed is my achievement, if any here: a saturated, unchopped, completeness; changes of scene, of mood, of person, done without spilling a drop. Now if it cd. be worked over with heat & currency thats all it wants. And I am getting my blood up. (temp. 99)
But all the same I went to Lewes, & the Keynes's came to tea; & having got astride my saddle the whole world falls into shape; it is this writing that gives me my proportions.

“When participants used ChatGPT to draft essays, brain scans revealed a 47% drop in neural connectivity across regions associated with memory, language, & critical reasoning.

Their brains worked less, but they felt just as engaged—a kind of metacognitive mirage.”🧪
