1/ Uit mijn herkomstonderzoek blijkt dat je aan de objecten uit Indonesië de kennisuitwisseling tussen de lokale veeartsen of behandelaars en de Nederlandse veeartsen kan zien.

Kijk bijvoorbeeld eens naar deze castratieset die ik onderzoek, ontworpen door de Nederlandse veearts A. Vrijburg:

1/ Al vanaf 1830 werden veeartsen uitgezonden naar het toenmalige Nederlands-Indië. Eerst werkten ze als paardenarts in het leger. Later bestreden ze ook besmettelijke veeziektes en deden ze onderzoek. In 1907 bestond daarvoor het Veeartsenijkundig Instituut op Java.
