The environment is made up of dirt, stone, and wooden platforms, and is very lush with overgrowth everywhere.

It’s a 16 frame animation, but not that many unique drawings (a lot of frames can be copied and flipped, etc)

Nah, a lot of the spikes are on different layers. Just animated them one at a time, with lots of copying pasting + flipping them
