The Brennan Johnson problem Palace's £35m January signing is still without a goal and his confidence looks shot

Brennan Johnson has struggled since joining Palace.

Early flashes of promise have disappeared and although last night was better, it is a low bar

Clearly low on confidence, perhaps a pre-season with a new manager will help him to reset.

Palace believe he will come good #CPFC

I understand

Full-time: Palace 0-0 West Ham

A poor quality game ends goalless. A couple of good chances for both sides wasted but otherwise not much happened.

Palace will be disappointed with that #CPFC

Ismaila Sarr has the ball in the net but Darren England rules it out for a handball by Jean-Philippe Mateta which is the correct decision #CPFC

Haha! I'll get them to fix that

I believe he played football for Whyteleafe once upon a time

It's difficult because he's a striker who thrives around the box / attacking the ball but doesn't really tend to bring others into play and he's had nothing to work with

Here we go. 58 minutes played and Jean-Philippe Mateta, Ismaila Sarr and Daichi Kamada are coming on.

Off go Jorgen Strand Larsen, Yeremy Pino and Will Hughes #CPFC

Jefferson Lerma with a perfect cross but Brennan Johnson somehow put his header wide unmarked

First chance of the game which has otherwise produced nothing #CPFC

Also just means we'll probably see more players faking their reactions in future

Don't understand why that's not a red card for Gabriel

It shouldn't be but those sorts of situations are always red cards

I have consistently said I don't think they'll go down. Established clubs like that just somehow find a way. But it is becoming increasingly more nervy.

My sense is if they win one game they will win another one.

But there's obviously a lot of uncertainty

Full-time: Fiorentina 2-1 Palace (2-4 aggregate)

Palace progress through to the Conference League semi-final

Not the best night, with injuries to Maxence Lacroix and Adam Wharton, but they'll be delighted to progress despite defeat on the night

Showed resilience to shut the game down too #CPFC

It's been a strange game. A lot of attempts to deceive the referee, including one from Chadi Riad just now who makes out he's been seriously hurt by Ndor's barge to his upper chest.

Palace started brilliantly but have faded, the injuries to Wharton and Lacroix haven't helped in that respect #CPFC

Goal! Palace lead through Ismaila Sarr with a header from Daniel Munoz's cross. Sarr had laid it off to him in the first place.

4': Ismaila Sarr drives through the middle, plays in Munoz on the right who is totally unmarked coming onto the ball. He needs to score into the far corner but he shoots wide as he doesn't sort his feet out properly #CPFC

Incredible atmosphere here inside the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence

Flares from the Palace fans with their red and blue flags waving and now the same from Fiorentina in the home ends.

I've not really been able to respond to many people but wanted to say thank you for reading

I'm sorry that your dad is too unwell to go. Your response has made me emotional in return, but I hope that in some small way reading the piece, however difficult, has afforded you a tiny bit of comfort

Going to watch Palace with him was special, to both of us. For so many years it was a shared bond. It brought us joy

Loved sharing memories with him, about the grounds I visited & him recalling when he went there before

Yep it's not necessarily an amazing move for him but there are still some persuasive reasons why he would choose Palace instead of staying with Bournemouth
