Donald Trump: job killer
Posts by Lisa Garbrick
Forget "total cost of ownership." In the UK, the average EV is now cheaper than the average ICE vehicle, up front. Sticker cost.
And of course the savings just keep accumulating after that.
Interview
@joshholland.bsky.social and I just talked with Joel Moreno at KOMO news about Vision Zero. With 27 people killed on our streets last year, 18 of whom were walking, it’s no surprise that Seattleites are saying traffic safety is a top concern that must be prioritized
We know how to get rid of congestion, and it requires you to do the exact opposite of this.
So sad. I drove family to Tacoma yesterday and saw people crossing (on foot)near there both going and coming home. Has something changed to inspire this? How many near misses happen every day? 💔
2 adults on a lime unfamiliar with the area maybe trying to cross the street, Fox 13 reports. This section of Aurora has a center median barrier. Driver was not arrested. Still many unanswered questions about what happened.
Great, another thing Trump has messed up. If you want a high-end cargo bike visit Dandelion Bikes and get one while you can: www.dandelion.bike
NASA and Mamdani are proving that Americans are desperate to see their money spent in ways they feel good about.
This, however, is not the same thing as simply spending the money on things we would feel good about but never know happened. People need to be able to see it.
This week was so bad. Just so bad.
Wow
“It wasn’t that long ago that there weren’t any protected bike lanes downtown. The bike network is better than it’s ever been in Seattle,” he said. “If people haven’t ridden downtown recently, I encourage everyone to try it again.”
Great to chat with @nickdeshais.bsky.social about this connection!
Oh thank god the fake achievement lasted long enough for this corrupt & incompetent administration to make lots of money by manipulating the stock market, and long enough to brag about it, which for this administration is the same or better than actually accomplishing it.
Also why do we tolerate Presidency by social media posts?
My wife asked me to repost this in case some folks missed it.
She is de-stashing her treasure hoard of yarn. There's a lot of it. It's kinda taken over the house. I'm in the attic of the garage right now. Help?

It’s (mostly) open 🎉! Here is what the section of the new east-side trail on Alaskan Way looks like. It’s going to be very useful on days like today when the cruise ship loading/unloading has closed the west side trail.
NEW: In court filing, US Attorney Jeanine Pirro asks a court to order the handover of taxpayer-funded reimbursement money to a pair of Jan 6 riot defendants
The defendants had been ordered to pay damages to a fund to help victims & repair Capitol
Instead, we'll pay for it
Good grief!
On January 10, 2022, the Knicks played the San Antonio Spurs at the Garden. It was Pride night. Richards was there, attending with a friend. An 18-page report prepared by Eversole's Threat Management Group and reviewed by WIRED shows just how closely she was being monitored. 07:10:20 // CAM 0241 // scans her ticket to section 102, Row 8, Seat 5 07:11:14 // CAM 1434 // goes up terrace escalators on level 3 to level 6 concourse 07:12:52 // CAM AC10 // hugs usher Appendix A of the report has a screenshot of the embrace, with Richards circled in red. 08:08:58 // CAM 1093 // talking with F&B worker at the Draft Kings Bar 08:10:49 // CAM 0512 // pays for the drinks 08:31:19 // CAM 0485 // eating at a table It goes on and on. At 8:48 pm, camera 0489 spots another quick hug with an MSG “membership experience executive” (there's a grainy photo in the report's Appendix N). Two minutes and two seconds later, the same camera captures her heading into the women's bathroom. Her exit is noted after precisely two minutes and five seconds.
The owner of MSG and the Knicks compiled this kind of second-by-second surveillance of a trans woman while they were in the arena. They're doing this at all venues owned by James Dolan of perceived enemies. Crazy, crazy shit.

Noah Wyle also banned cellphones on the set and brought in a lending library that everyone can contribute to. He said the background actors are the best read people in Hollywood right now.
As ever, Wolf Worm is an exceptional read with sympathetic characters, rich details, an enthusiasm for the natural and mythical world, and insightful parallels drawn between the two. Not to mention the sort of grotesque, skin-crawling imagery we all expect out of @tkingfisher.com
One of the things I love most about NYC, and something I cherish, is walking, biking and taking the subway. It’s actually superior to being in a car whenever you have the choice.
The worst part of any bike ride is cars.
Why isn't it immediately obvious to everyone that the solution is to move away from dependence on oil?
(I know why there is resistance, of course. The oil industry generates a lot of money.)
But still.

Men are 2.6x more likely than women to bike to work. Study finds where protected bike lane coverage is higher, women’s cycling rates rise significantly faster than men’s. Where coverage is limited or fragmented, women’s participation drops more sharply.

the basic theory of DOGE was that if powerful people said it was fine it didn’t matter what the law said.
I think proving that theory wrong is worth significant effort
Trump's 250-foot arch receives early design approval as the public Pans it
The Commission of Fine Arts asked the architect for revisions, with one member suggesting the project could be downsized by leaving out gold-plated statues.
Look at the size relative to the Washington Monument and Capital!
The White House doesn’t have a Ballroom (No Taxpayer Money!), which Presidents have desperately wanted and desired for over 150 years, but a Trump Hating, Washington, D.C. District Court Judge, a man who has gone out of his way to undermine National Security, and to make sure that this Great Gift to America gets delayed, or doesn’t get built, is attempting to prevent future Presidents and World Leaders from having a safe and secure large scale Meeting Place, or Ballroom, one with Bomb Shelters, a State of the Art Hospital and Medical Facilities, Protective Partitioning, Top Secret Military Installations, Structures, and Equipment, Protective Missile Resistant Steel, Columns, Roofs, and Beams, Drone Proof Ceilings and Roofs, Military Grade Venting, and Bullet, Ballistic, and Blast Proof Glass —which all means that no future President, living in the White House without this Ballroom, can ever be Safe and Secure at Events, Future Inaugurations, or Global Summits. This Magnificent Space will allow them to carry out their vital duties as the Leader of our Nation. Furthermore, the Ballroom, which is being constructed on budget and ahead of schedule, is needed now. Almost all material necessary for its construction is being built and/or on its way to the site, ready for installation and erection. Much of it has already been paid for, costing Hundreds of Millions of Dollars. If somebody, especially one with no standing, had a complaint — Why wasn’t it filed many months earlier, long before Construction was started? The Public Record was open for all to see. Everybody knew that it was planned, and going to be built. This highly political Judge, and his illegal overreach, is out of control, and costing our Nation greatly. This is a mockery to our Court System! The Ballroom is deeply important to our National Security, and no Judge can be allowed to stop this Historic and Militarily Imperative Project. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Trump rants his ballroom will feature "Bomb Shelters, a State of the Art Hospital & Medical Facilities,Top Secret Military Installations, Protective Missile Resistant Steel, Drone Proof Ceilings, Military Grade Venting, & Bullet, Ballistic, & Blast Proof Glass"
Dafuq kind of ballroom is this?
I’ve consistently spoken out against whistleblowers who follow the correct process being targeted.
I don’t care what political party is doing the targeting. It’s dangerous, and it has to stop. Whistleblower protections exist for a reason.
