A History of The Beatles in Verse: the Touring Years.

I thought it would be a good idea in a poem about Paul McCartney to have all the rhymes at the beginning of the line (to the left) instead of the end.

Words, words, words.

Beatles History, January 1969.

After over two years of posting videos of my Beatles poem on social media, and over three years actually writing the thing, we have reached the final year of the story. Boooo. (Read the poem at the Journal of Beatles Studies, here: doi.org/10.3828/jbs....)

At the beginning of 1964, plans are put in place for the Beatles' forthcoming American visit. Five years prior to the moon landings, their two week American visit is very much a generational Earth landing: a key cultural moment of the extreme twentieth-century.

After the death of Brian Epstein in 1967, the Beatles' business affairs quickly unravelled after they decided to manage themselves. This is a poem about the chaotic Apple headquarters, 3 Savile Row, at the close of 1968.

The Beatles famously met Bob Dylan at the Del Monico Hotel in 1964. This is one of two poems I've written about that meeting.

In 1968, the Beatles were a working band (the most famous musicians in the world) and they had lots of ideas.

Hi, I've never actually been on a Beatles tour. There's no real need when I live here! Having said that I think the taxi tours look good if you're looking for a more personal experience. The drivers on these tours are really knowledgeable.
