I don't know why I just got a craving for caramel swirl ice cream at 9:40 AM but it's good that I'm not in a position to do anything about that right now

Happy Earth Day! Celebrate with relearning the early history of cooperative games that includes Save the Whales, the Earthball, and Sid Sackson's Peace Conference!
we all know I have no life, so:
My wife still had one of these from her childhood, and it still gets used today... should it not be?
Idea for a short video series - randomly select a game from my shelf, randomly select a card (or other component), and explain what makes it interesting in the context of the game.

Wait....DWARF FORTRESS GOT A SECRET LAIR?!?!
What are the highlights of The World Is To Dig by @tmbg.bsky.social ? From a first listen, I dig the mid-album three-shot of Get Down, New Wave Will Never Die, and Overnight Sensation. What do you dig?
I just got to interview a prominent game designer for Part 2 of the History of Cooperative Games video series! Excellent to have more perspectives and hear from someone so engaged in the coop space.
This gritty Blue Prince reboot leaves much to be desired

Quibli on the MATRX rulebook
Quibli on my sweater
We sadly had to say goodbye to our beloved bearded dragon Quibli today. My wife noticed she was acting and looking odd, and the vet found cancerous tumors and a low red blood cell count. We only had her a few years but sheβll be deeply missed.
We're not the Osbornes...
I had a coworker who, up through the 2020s, would use the phrase "And in a shocking Pepsi Twist..." to introduce not-so-shocking revelations.

Good shouts! Thank you, I'm barely familiar with either of those two. I couldn't find the precise rulebook or Learn to Play snippet with the MoM rule for it - it's dozens of pages to go through and I don't really know the game so I could've missed it - but The Game is a good addition to this π
Rules from Beasts giving examples of what you could say
Snippet from the Battlestar Galactica rulebook
Looking for examples - board games with wishy-washy rules about what you're allowed to say. Ones where you can't say specifically what's in your hand, but you can give some really strong hints.
Man, I hate when I'm completely surrounded by evil and have to take another turn or change a level.
Work cafeteria had Spicy Korean Chicken & Waffles - Delicious fried chicken on a sweet waffle, with gochujang, kimchi, and other deliciousness. It was a revelation.
My TMBG chronological album listen has brought up this fantastic song which only feels more relevant by the day.

I assume Armando Iannucci will be great on Taskmaster, but I strongly believe @alexhorne.bsky.social booked him solely for the punny task transitions. "This guy cost us an Arm-and-o Leg to book, it's Armando!" "Next up, let's see Amyando... Armyando... It's Amy and Armando!"
Oh, does the Daily Show still use Dog On Fire? Awesome! Any royalty check going to the Johns is a good thing.
I just hope that they made a ton of Disney money for those two Mickey Mouse songs.
Continuing to listen to all the TMBG albums in order, and I've been going through one of my less favorite sections, the kid-album-heavy 2000s. Here Come(s) The ABCs/The 123s/Science are good *for kid albums*, but that's not a genre I tend to listen to on my own during my workday.
He does a great job with it, too! He tries to find the good in any title, no matter how horrible it is. Graeldon rocks.
