Every adult my entire childhood: Go outside! Drink more water! Eat something!
Make something of yourself!
Child me: Shut up, Daaaaad!
Adult me: …damnit
Don’t put that evil in my head, Erin.
Not to mention that it must make the experience unbearably boring. Writing is already absurdly difficult. If you’re not discovering something, why even do it?
My new piece out today in Wayfarer Magazine: “Open Letter to an ICE Recruit.” It’s an appeal to conscience, duty, and the moral cost of surrendering judgment to the machine.

I’m honored to share that I’ve been named to the
Philadelphia Business Journal's 40 Under 40.
At Cornerstone, I have the privilege of working alongside people who believe that schools can change lives and strengthen communities. #40Under40
Thanks to our friends at @aegispropertygroup, some of the Cornerstone family were in attendance to see the @phillies defeat the @nationals in @citizensbankpark last night, led by a deep shot from @kschwarb12
Baseball is back, baby! #baseball #phillies
Literally once a week I host a private event I refer to as Water Day. It commences when I realize I’ve only consumed coffee or bourbon for the previous six consecutive days.
Fair. Though, the inherently amorphous nature of the ick appears to very regularly, though not exclusively, be describing objectification.
Or does this only happen in early-aught teen films when the “nerd” is revealed to be a hidden beauty by mere fact of having removed their glasses?
Does the opposite phenomena exist, I wonder. Can one experience de-icking? If so, we must name this.
My latest piece in Front Porch Republic reflects on what Norman Maclean's classic can still teach us.

We didn't publish 'Heated Rivalry' at @underreviewlit.bsky.social, but we can claim to be the home for one of the finest pieces of hockey writing I've read this year. 'The Last Bogatyr of Kladno' by @brandonmcneice.bsky.social!
A 12/10 essay. Must read now!

School closures aren’t just administrative decisions—they reshape neighborhoods, families, and futures. I wrote about what’s at stake as Philadelphia faces another round of consolidation. Grateful to The Philadelphia Citizen for publishing this today.

Sometimes leadership means choosing to pause. Snow days used to be sacred, and every once in a while, they still should be.
Stay safe, stay warm, and enjoy the wonder of winter. ❄️ #SnowDay

I can think of no clearer evidence that ICE's targets present zero threat than the fact that the citizens of Minneapolis are currently risking their lives just to keep keep them as neighbors.
