A guide with recommendations on what size and format to post art in on Bluesky. Bluesky converts images to JPEG/JPG so it is recommended to use your own software to export your art as JPEG/JPG. This is to avoid Bluesky's rough format conversion. The minimum size seems to be 900 pixels on both the width and height dimensions with a maximum of 2000 pixels likewise. The recommended size seems to be between 1200 pixels to 1800 pixels on both sides. For pixel art, it is recommended to post exactly in 900 pixels or 1200 pixels for the width. This is because the width seems to be the most important for pixel art online display. Additional Notes: The maximum is 2000 pixels, but recommended to keep below this to avoid possible compression. Applying a "unsharpen mask" at 10% strength helps with image clearness. To keep your art safe, do not upload in anything more than 72dpi.
