Orioles pitchers tonight.
Are we bowling cricket balls now?
Adley!!!!!
Can’t get picked off at first if you skip first base and go straight to second.
Good move, Gunnar.
Hopefully no home runs bounce off of Coby Mayo’s head.
Glad we didn’t have a tarp injury there.
Nothing will make up for the 2014 ALCS.
But this win still feels good.
That might be the grandest slam of the season.
TIMES 👏 TWO 👏
What a long strange trip it’s been.
GEE, BEAV!!!!! WHAT A SWELL HIT!!!!!
“I’M SPARTACUS!!!!!”
Guess he decided the best thing he could do there was not get on base.
(Don’t wanna take any chances...)
DING DING DING DING DING
BANANA BALLLLLLLLLLLLLL
What is even happening out there.
That half inning was insane.
SAMUEL!!!!!
Gunnar getting gunned down at first?
Holy smokes.
Guys.
How in the world did he pitch out of that.
J-Rico
I can’t help myself. I too say Suavé instinctively whenever I hear his name.
Every time I hear someone say “Sam Huff”
I think—
Didn’t he play in the 1958 NFL Championship Game?!
And then I remember.
Oh. Different Sam Huff.
JEREMIAH YOU HAVE BLESSED US
WESTON WILSON?!
The 2007-‘08 expansion of Towson Town Center was a colossal mistake that I think kind of ensured that this would eventually happen.
A 2019 eBay listing for an elusive 1996-manufactured Andre Rison Baltimore Ravens replica jersey.
One of those Rison Ravens jerseys actually turned up on eBay back in 2019—and only very slightly above the 1996 price point, too!
Yeah, I referenced that in the alt text! Hilarious that they actually MADE Rison Ravens jerseys. I’ve seen them in the wild. They’re incredibly rare, of course, but there are some that are still out there…
They really were. One of the reasons they transitioned from these to the drop-shadow look in 1997 was that some people thought these were hard to decipher from far away in the stands. But I still love them.
those numerals were killer
HECHT’S advertisement for brand new Baltimore Ravens apparel, from the Gameday Magazine for the inaugural Ravens game, against the Oakland Raiders at Memorial Stadium on September 1st, 1996. Note that when the season began, HECHT’S was still advertising that it had “Rison” Ravens jerseys for sale… Andre Rison (who’d been a highly paid and outspoken wide receiver on the 1995 Cleveland Browns) was technically on the roster when the franchise moved from Cleveland to Baltimore, but he was released by the team in July to make salary cap space (so the team could sign its top 1996 draft choices, like Jonathan Ogden and Ray Lewis), and he never actually played a down of football for the Ravens.
When I think of the Baltimore Ravens and “new uniforms” this is still what immediately comes to mind.
Tempus fugit…
