I have two sets of metal dice - one that's got a steel finish with engraved numbers, and one that's got ridged edges and rainbow scales like some kind of fabulous dragon. They both roll like shit because they're so heavy (more a 'thud' than a roll) but I love just looking at them lol.

Give me Persona 5, give me Windblown, give me Slay the Spire or Darktide or Breath of the Wild over Hyper-Realistic 'Look You Can See Their Individual Hair Folicles' Waist-High Cover Simulator any day.

I have no doubt that whichever game first manages to legitimately have graphics so good that you feel like you're controlling a live-action movie will go down in history for it, but honestly if you can't achieve that without requiring the absolute top-of-the-line hardware, you're aiming too high.

Like, the only AAA game I can think of whose visuals really captured me was Horizon Zero Dawn, and that was as much because of the world they'd built than having anything to do with the poly count or how shiny the reflection of Aloy's face on the neck bolt of a robo-dinosaur three miles away was.

Some of the games whose visual identity still sticks with me the most were absolutely not anywhere near industry standard AAA expectations in terms of their graphical quality

I've long held to a simple creed; whatever size or shape it might be, if you enjoy having stuff done to your junk, that's all I need to know to have fun doing stuff to it. :3
