Today, for the third time in my mother's life and for the second in my own life, we lost a home due to it being bombed by the Israeli army.

#Supercollider has never sounded this good.
We reverse-engineered some classic synths in the code and made a whole ass evolving, randomised melodic techno set.

Had an idea for a realtime interactive music video and kept adding to it. Made a hover racing track, and mech combat level. #godot #blender #indiegamedev

This is how it started in the Transnistria region of Moldova in 1989 a year before Russia's Transnistrian War broke out; in the Abkhazia and North Ossetia regions of Georgia in 1989 three years before the Russian invasion; in the Donbas region of Ukraine in 2014 months before the Russian invasion.
The political press very clearly understands “truth” as a social agreement, a compromise position between everyone important enough to have an opinion. It did not reflect on how this would allow dedicated liars to go all-in on lies again and again and dramatically shift the position.
Made MechAssault with MechWarrior 2 graphics in #godot for nostalgia reasons. seems to run well in browser and on android. #indiegamedev
I'm so happy that the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms seems to be exactly what it should be, a class struggle story with all the dimensions and subtext of the novellas. 🖤
Also not to harp on it, but it may be the first time any of the ASoIaF shows had two working class characters talk to each other. 🫣
The day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empire's authority and then there will be one too many.

I'm reading Project Hail Mary and it's the best sci fi I've read in a loooong time. Also really wholesome and uplifting. I highly recommend it to counteract all that burning world anxiety.
DBZ Abridged is excellent btw
Can't wait to see how the current government tries to weasel out of this ruling and the next one simply ignores it or declares it invalid for some made-up reason.
Otherwise, a landmark ruling for a lot of people who can afford the trip.
“The government is allowed to post real death threats on social media but you’re not allowed to post sarcastic death threats on social media” is actually a pretty apt distillation of power and violence
I recently discovered that watching it in French is a whole new experience. You suddenly realise that oh yeah, this is actually very much a French movie. 😂
Thr gamification of debt is just that, a game of expected values. It's fine to play and be one of the benefactors, if you're not too repulsed by the whole system.
Then no reason not to 🏴☠️ ;)

Bandcamp is a great way to support artists, and for listening to new music globaldjmix.com is full off good stuff, sorted by genre.
That's fair. I think that also plays into the happy ending problem. We are at a moment where we fight for damage control, not a happy ending. If you find that to be enough of a motivation for you (I do too) then that's good. That's not everyone though.
Anger does motivate people better than hope. Related, I think our cultural tendency to expect/promise each other a happy ending is holding us back.
New mix I'm rather proud of:

It tends to be a lot of manipulating equations for the sake of it, yeah. Not as bad as in some other branches.
It's not "finding out what's wrong" if we already know that it is wrong, and why, and the only reason it gets published is that reviewers didn't have the stomach to properly review your 60 pages of PDE violence.
Nah. A lot of this research can't stand on its own as a contribution to mathematics *or* physics and it doesn't, in fact, help someone else make an elegant model. There are entire branches of it, particularly in the quantum gravity genre, that are less than useless.
A friend of mine was on Charlie Kirk's "watch list" of Black professors. She received so many death and rape threats that her university offered her a security detail for the walk to class.
This is Kirk's legacy.
You would never know it from reading all of these legacy newspaper op-eds about him.
Hold up. The phenomenon of entire research groups going down rabbit holes of arbitrarily chosen parameters and cranking out papers about that *is* an industry of useless papers. It's arguing how many angels dance on the tip of a pin, but in a language of differential equations.
