Following @manchester.ac.uk’s victory in University Challenge, I am jumping on the bandwagon to share that I will be back at Manchester from September to study for a PhD in Bioethics and Medical Jurisprudence! Exciting times ahead! @uomlaw.bsky.social

Had great fun in Cambridge over the weekend, with my first formal at the wonderful Clare College, and then two whole days of Kant at Madingley Hall! @cam.ac.uk
Feeling very proud to have graduated from @manchester.ac.uk yesterday with my MA in Healthcare Ethics & Law - and with a Distinction, no less! I definitely think I suit a gown!

Thank you! I am made up!!
After an agonising wait, my MA dissertation result finally arrived today. I only went and got a distinction! 🥳
A most excellent bookcase!
Sending love to the whole Jewish community tonight, especially to Heaton Park.
Appeal to #academicsky #PhDsky - if anyone can point me in the direction of any resources which might help with putting together a PhD proposal, I would be most grateful! Bonus points if it’s specific to #bioethics!
Official Cambridge postgrad selfie! Looking forward to being back in a couple of weeks for all things ancient philosophy!
Whatever mark my dissertation gets, I am pretty proud of myself for having written something quite this long! It’s almost like a proper little book!

Just ‘Kant’ handle these Kant jokes… 😂
The bunnies know how to Bank Holiday!
I look forward to reading this, once I finally finish my dissertation!!

Now that it’s all official: delighted that I will be studying the Philosophy PGCert from October at @cam.ac.uk! #philsky
Please tell me there are some other MA students out there currently experiencing dissertation-related existential crises! #postgrad #academicsky
Had a great day at the @uomlaw.bsky.social celebration of Margot Brazier event, which was excellent. 10/10.
The M56, in my faithful little car without air con, was less excellent. 1/10.
That is… disturbing!
… but I think that the narrow margin it passed by is probably a reflection of how poor a Bill it is. It might be interesting to see what the Lords say next. And it will certainly keep the ethicists busy! 2/2

I don’t necessarily object to #assisteddying as a concept, per se, provided that the legislation around it is sufficiently robust. This legislation is not. It’s a poorly drafted Bill, and the RCPsych has concerns about it in its current form. So, I am a little surprised by today’s outcome… 1/2
Definitely acceptable - shows consistency in your work, and that you stand by your past arguments (probably!) 🤣
MA: 2/3 complete!
Just the dissertation to go…
Really not sure how I feel about all that this evening! But it was nice to see [redacted]!
Thank you! It’s very early days with it at the moment, but I’ll happily tell you more when it’s better developed!
The current dissertation book pile! #ethics #philosophy #philsky
I rather like this!
Philosophers: what are your favourite works on philosophy of mind? I’m seeking recommendations on what I should read! #philsky
Indeed! AI should keep to its proper purpose, namely creating pictures of Pokémon as Jedi, and nothing else!
I honestly don’t see the point of studying if all you are going to do is get ChatGPT to write everything for you. On top of which, I am arrogant enough to be sure I can do a much better job myself, without any AI!
