Something strangely wholesome and powerful how the most important thing that came out of the whole Moon Child rediscovery is the sentence "you've got the power to be his friend"

Thanks a lot for all the follows, everyone! I'm having soo much fun reading and viewing all the Moon Child love. 😊🙏
I'm also forwarding stuff to the other guys, including Ramon, our music composer.
Here are some pencil-on-paper concept sketches I made around the start of Moon Child development. 🙂
Moon Ghost
just wish that attitude more easily extended to working on the script. don't really have an equivalent for opening up a sprite sheet and casually sketching some things
always takes like an hour and a half of feeling hopeless in the morning before I remember that making art is generally pretty chill and fun
gah... need to stop lingering on this and get back to work. this is time that could be spent drawing one of those marble towers with the slides and funnels where all the marbles race down. that's one of the few things that makes sense to me right now, in this twisted world...
I'm insecure about my art, too, but I'm definitely more comfortable with making assets than I am with writing scenes. feels way more immediate and I've got a better sense for what's "good enough"
I know I'll warm back up to writing eventually but I'm really not a fan of how often I have to do this
finding it tough to stay motivated to work on writing lately, even placeholder dialogue has been difficult for me... wish I could just get my act together and feel confident in making things for once
but at least some progress is being made with overworld sprites and stuff
A rug of the character BB from Anthology of the Killer
anthology of the killer has released on switch so i wanted to share that i have (probably) the first and only rug of famous serial killer victim BB. how new wave!
first couple hours of a pokemon game are the sweet spot cause all the unnamed npcs just say stuff like Oh, man! I can't get enough of changing my settings in the menu!
"Smithers, who is that delightful green gadabout?"
"That's Moon Child, sir. You, uh, recently acquired the power to be his friend."
Anthology of the Killer is OUT NOW on PS5 and Nintendo Switch!
The groundbreaking and dreamlike, IGF Nuovo-winning horror-comedy series from legendary auteur thecatamites, is finally on console!
Play once and remember forever.

it's a surprisingly breezy pick-up-and-play kind of adventure game though, so I'm going to stick with it and be patient. it's a pretty neat and stylish game, I'm just a bit disappointed I haven't been obsessed with it despite how much it intrigues me
it's like, the atmosphere is immaculate, and while some of the ways it's written have me rolling my eyes a bit, I think I find the story decently compelling so far. but the puzzles are kind of whatever to me. they're alright but it feels a bit like it's interrupting me with homework all the time
unsure if I'm interested in continuing with Lorelei and the Laser Eyes... I haven't run into an actual wall yet and I've been playing for over a dozen hours so far, but I still don't think it's completely hooked me.
i'll give it at least a few more sessions, every time I play I find a new lead
Picture of Neil the Rat sitting in front of a toy keyboard, traced over and redrawn to instead resemble the character John Egbert from Homestuck during a scene in which he completes his quest and plays a pipe organ. The Rat is wearing John's god tier outfit; there are pipes with oil leaking out of them.
world's most janky image redraw to celebrate the occasion
Parasect is like really really terrible but I got very attached to MA PIGNON anyway. having basically no way to deal damage doesn’t matter much when you easily can put the enemy to sleep and swap to someone else for free. what a little jerk.
ma pignon (little jerk) #cavestory
I fw the world and everything in it #zato

This soundtrack should be illegal
the “abstract outline/trying to envision the ideal story” phase is always the one where I take the most psychic damage. gotta plan stuff out but you mostly need to be OK with staring directly at the thing you’re making
(sorry if I’m sharing too much, workflow stuff has just been on my mind lately)
there was a time where I got super anxious about keeping the facts straight with my story. but I accepted that having a true full picture is impossible and frankly not really necessary
if you get those details and events in game or in script, that can be enough of a reminder. it solidifies them
worries about the bigger picture tend to fade away when you’re just trying to get the thing in front of you to work out, even if the task seems trivial. you’ll get a clearer idea of what you’re making by seeing for yourself what you can make anyways.
I have no way to enter this state consistently but its all about getting wrapped up enough in the process of making something that you kind of forget about the crushing dread
Screenshot from Pokémon FireRed. My team of six Pokemon stand triumphant as confetti rains down from the heavens. Text reads “Welcome to the HALL OF FAME!”
Screenshot from FireRed. Lists my Pokémon team before fighting the Elite Four: MA PIGNON the Parasect, FRED the Charizard, BAKUGAN the Hypno, MCQUEEN the Jolteon, JOEYWHEELR the Kangaskhan, and MTN. DEW the Dewgong. Everybody’s level 48.
I beat Pokémon FireRed! pretty satisfied with how my final team turned out.
