From policemen to boxers to the influence of women on the cultural, social, and economic fabric of Birmingham, it was an enlightening talk encompassimg individual stories, the parts of Ireland that people came from, and what happened to working class communities.

An excellent evening travelling back in time to #Victorian #Birmingham and learning about the city’s #Irish community from Professor Carl Chinn MBE

An absolutely fantastic insight into Birmingham’s #LocalHistory and the #Irish people who shaped the city’s identity and its past.

A spooktacular evening has been had at Aston Hall’s Haunted Hall Ghost tour! An interesting evening exploring the building by candlelight and learning about its terrifying tales and resident ghosts 👻

A fantastic & interactive way to learn about these stories through a recreation of police dress, archival materials including photographs, & interviews with individuals. It was great to see the archival collection from Birmingham City University Cultural Collections & Archive too

Congratulations Corinne Brazier & staff & students from @mybcu.bsky.social School of Computing & School of Fashion on the amazing Fashion Police exhibition!

A wonderful launch & learnt so much about how police fashion developed over 180 years & the people behind the uniforms

Fantastic evening at the West Midlands Police Museum learning from Corinne Brazier about the history of policing in #Birmingham and the stories of those connected to the station - from staff to convicts - from the 1800s to 2016 when the station became a museum 🚔
