Week #10 2026: Happy to share that my PhD Prelim was a success 🥳 Did a course on Social Media Content Creation at main university. Walk at Augarten (childhood memories! They cut my climbing tree 😭 and planted conifers?). Got ill with a weird cold. Picked up my citizen science bee hotel 😁🐝 Spring 🪻🌱

Arzt - unauffälliger Standardbefund - warten, vielleicht bildet man sich das ein? - Beschwerden häufen sich - Arzt - unauffälliger Befund - "Geht es Ihnen psychisch gut?" - Ja verdammt, aber bald nicht mehr, wenn alles schmerzt und ich zu müde zum Leben bin!? ...
Da wird gemeckert, dass Patient:innen ihre Symptome googlen.
Aber:
Wenn man -insbesondere- eine Frau UND #GKV ist, bleibt einem gar nichts anderes übrig. Es sei denn, man hat Geld und kann sich auf Selbstzahlerbasis eine Diagnostik kaufen.
Sorry für zu viel Realität.

Week #9 2026: My prelim prep stress was disrupted by our great PhD Retreat in Graz! Also met my two cousins in Graz 🥰 coffee and great conversation with one cousin, followed by an amazing city tour by the other cousin! Weekend spent with horses. First pic of me sitting on my rookie horse 🐎😍

PhD Life: Staying at work until 21:30h to design a presentation 🎨 Give the presentation without practice half asleep the next morning on pure adrenaline 😳 Be very happy and relieved about good feedback and a fruitful discussion 😇
Oh and I forgot the best part (bc there is no picture) - but I FINALLY saw some of my PLFA data 📊😍 looking forward to publish this story!
Week#6 2026: Finally some plus degrees and we could start the garden year! 🌱 New fence construction. Digging over soil. Surprisingly found some parsnips and made a wonderful soup 🥣 best Pizza in town @viatoledoenopizzeria 🍕🍹 and of course some horse training 🐎

Es gibt gute Hinweise darauf, dass die Erde ursprünglich lila war. Chlorophyll, das heute die grüne Farbe der Pflanzen bestimmt, gab es damals noch nicht. Stattdessen arbeiteten frühe Mikroorganismen wohl mit Retinal-basierten Pigmenten - und die sind lila.

Oh what a day! overslept; 🌧; found no one to ask a simple question 🤔; got new office mates without warning, so my ordered chaos was still spread on their desk while I was out for a meeting; and I spilled soda on the laptop & the quite box during the zoom meeting 💀 I hope tomorrow is better 🥹
