Exactly. A lot of the time, a call for empathy for the dominant group is actually a call for sacrifice from the oppressed.
They use the word “empathy” to make the injustice feel like a moral imperative.

A defining feature of patriarchal violence is that it isn’t just directed at women. It’s also directed at other men in power struggles to determine whose ideology should dominate.
It is unsurprising that men who encourage violence to jockey for political power will find themselves subjected to it.
Since Charlie Kirk was fatally shot, people on the left have been censored, punished, and targeted with more violence for telling the truth about Kirk's legacy. The cycle continues: mainstream whitewashing of violence begets more violence and the victims are blamed.

Whether or not you support political violence won’t change where we’ve come to, nor where we’ve been for some time in this country. I am quite taken aback by how many people only invoke the term ‘political violence’ when it happens to a person with power. It’s political violence the other way too.
I said something last week that is more broadly applicable today:
Calling for empathy is not neutral or apolitical when only one group of people have been socialized and brutalized into having empathy.
Propaganda I'm not falling for:
- Meghan Markle hate
- Amber Heard hate
- Halle Bailey hate
- Rachel Zegler hate
- Bella Ramsey hate
- Blake Lively hate
- Megan Thee Stallion hate
- Brie Larson hate
- Cassie Ventura hate
“Believe survivors” you say when the Epstein survivors name no names.
Will you still believe them when they aren’t perfect?
When they name someone you like or voted for?
Do you believe E Jean Carroll & Lindsey Boylan?
Did you believe Amber Heard when it meant standing against the world?

I’m so happy to see Amber Heard and her daughter happy and thriving despite the harassment campaign that tried to destroy her life. She just made her stage debut in Jeremy O. Harris‘ new play “Spirit of the People.” These photos are by Hunter Abrams and Sam Lee for Vogue
men are more likely to be victims of SV than they are of being falsely accused. survivors are often treated worse after coming forward. but the second they do, people dissect their lives in search of "proof" that they deserved it/are lying. especially if they're accusing a public figure
I am currently collecting well-wishes and donations to get Amber Heard a large flower arrangement for the opening night of her new play.

"Continuing to work with crisis-management publicist Matthew Hiltzik, who has represented Johnny Depp, Donald Trump, and Justin Baldoni, Pitt has made a concerted effort to reestablish himself as an emblem of unaffected, undiluted movie-star cool with just a hint of vulnerability."
Met someone today who told me he ranked Cuomo and was taken aback that my immediate response was “oh so you could forgive the sexual assault then?”
If you’re gonna cast the vote, own up to it!
If one woman accuses a man they’ll say she’s lying, because she’s only one person. If more than a dozen women accuse a man they’ll say they’re all lying, it must be a coordinated campaign
It's the same crude psy-op they did with Amber Heard where out of nowhere, the algorithm started insisting "you HATE this bitch!"
From Amber Heard to Christine Blasey Ford, many survivors of sexual violence have been left feeling betrayed by a public that once encouraged them to share their stories. Alexis Okeowo reports.
Amber Heard deserves her peace – just like all survivors.
It's time Johnny Depp finally left her alone.
One good thing about this stupid fucking interview is it heavily implies he's lonely, sad, never sees his kids, deeply regrets Vanessa leaving him, and is desperate for company. Love that for him. Hope he cries himself to sleep each night while Amber reads bedtime stories to her kids.
Amber Heard and Jeremy O. Harris taking a selfie, they're both making silly faces and seem happy
Johnny Depp is still post separation abusing his bisexual ex wife, btw. he just randomly gave an interview about his divorce right before Amber announces something?? Hope shes exactly as unbothered as she looks here, but i am unfortunately not.
Christina Ricci (who has worked with Depp multiple times), Rachel Zegler (who faced her own undeserved backlash) and Ayo Edebiri (my Irish queen) liking the post about Amber's new role ❤️
Johnny Debt: bitter, alone, isolated, doesn't see his kids, unemployed, rotting, drunk
Amber Heard: glowing, employed, thriving, her family loves her ❤️
I just woke up omg incredible news! An incredible win for Blake Lively and all survivors in all of this. However this goes, Baldoni has been exposed, and protections against those like him have been upheld.
Justin Baldoni’s $400 million DARVO defamation lawsuit against Blake Lively and the NYT was dismissed. A rare victory.

Just thinking about the rhetoric that blames immigrants for violent crime that allows the government to slash and redirect resources for victims of violent crime to bolster the government’s own violent crimes against immigrants
"History will no doubt look upon the outcome of the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard with the same skepticism now applied to O.J. Simpson's 1995 acquittal after charges of his killing his wife and her friend." #IStandWithAmberHeard #politics
1 of many horrifying things about this case is Depp was suing everyone. He sued his management and sister. He was sued by his bodyguards + a crew member he punched, with that trial scheduled a month after the one with Amber.
& none of them garnered the kind of hate a woman alleging abuse did.
“And while some may be coy about who is behind this supposed oppression of men, realistically, there can only be one answer: women. Or, more specifically, what's harshing men's vibe is women claiming the right to be treated as equals and to be safe from male violence.”
"But they understood that Heard v. Depp did benefit Republicans, especially Trump.
"The entire circus was useful for convincing people that it's okay to choose disinformation over the truth, especially when the facts make you feel bad."
