I dont think it's a cost thing for them so much as contracts that already exist.

F1’s deal with European broadcasters is worth *a lot* of money. I am sure they wanted Apple to do everything they could to make sure this was not jeopardised

I don’t think they got to set the rules on this particular deal

That’s what rights deals will do
