Let's just cut to the chase here: do you seriously think she's the best the Dems can come up with as a candidate for the next presidential election?

What was it? Kamala is a cop? AFAI recall, she was a Biden continuity candidate and just about as inspiring.
In the end, it doesn't matter what I think, the US electorate preferred Trump -- again! -- over Harris. She couldn't beat Trump last time, so why would she win next time? Same old, same old.
Yes, 100 per cent! I'm an old man, bewildered by modern pop, dismissive of indie (because, obviously it's not as good as in my era. LOL) and I think rock/pop should be 'kids' music that adults dislike and sneer at.
It should be their 'thing' in opposition to their parents' thing. Like in my day!
Because whoever replaces Starmer will sack him, pdq.
Where are Reform’s votes coming from?
I'll say outer space. Is that it? They're all from another planet. Bloody aliens, coming here, voting in our elections...
Anecdotally neither me/my family/friends intend to visit the USA for as long as Trump is President.
Reports that the World Cup tickets and hotel beds are hugely undersold suggest that 'anecdotally' the US tourist trade has collapsed more widely. Is there a Trump effect?
Anyone got solid data?
It's what Hunter S. Thompson, Lester Bangs and Greil Marcus would have wanted.
"Shop now, while supplies last."
High tech versus low tech. Whodathunk it?
Yeah! You tell him, a daft old Karen who, actually, doesn't care what music you or anyone else likes. Enjoy it.
Who, in fact, was bemoaning the fact that a once great magazine was now whoring itself to anything and anyone, in a desperate bid for clicks and engagement. Modern media....grim.
Live stats now available in @radial.racing for De Brabantse Pijl!
In addition, you can now zoom in on course profiles, and as always, see where to catch races in your region with direct links to the stream when available!
I thought 'mis-hist' peaked with 'Albert Speer: his battle with truth' by Gitta Sereny!? After that epic, I'm not sure I want to go near it again!
'Maybe it's more of a long-form magazine read. Or a blog post?'
'Energy security.'
It’s illustrative to recognise when the Guardian uses the word investment (straightforward handing over cash to the private sector) and when it uses spending (welfare, public sector wages)
'It's time to play....Hunt the NDA!'
Good point made re. 'foreigners' working in the NHS and social services being promoted as a boon. Suspect this is widely perceived as a failure by Reform supporters. As in: 'they' have taken over, where are the 'British' workers in 'our NHS'?
Now, media consumption is more silo than echo chamber.
A wonderful wrong answer on The Chase.
If the Trump-Netanyahu war that has shut the Strait of Hormuz results in shortages of food and medicines in the UK, I wonder how strong that 'Special Relationship' will turn out to be?
The rapidity with which Trump has burned US soft power is breathtaking.
People need to edit their photos or learn to take better ones. Seriously, how many shite photos have you had inflicted on you? Dozens of near-identical piss-poor images, none worth keeping. Can you imagine the terabytes of HEICs uploaded into data centres every single day? Delete the crap, keep one.
It was not a thriller. It was dire. Arsenal were legless and clueless. Truly, 'our' season is like watching a Duracel bunny run out of juice, getting slower and slower until it simply falls over and stays still. I am not expecting a happy ending.
Not my field, but historically, didn't European universities exist to be centres of excellence, to educate, promote research and spread knowledge?
If that focus has changed, then when, where and why did they change their philosophy?
Or is it a primarily a UK issue?
You quote an anonymous source saying OpenAI has 'a billion' users and that's growing by '50-100% every year.' There are, at best, 6 billion people online on the planet.
I'd say - given the AI competition, apart from anything else - those numbers and growth projections look shaky.
It does give me a warm glow.
And then I realise that for the bloke who spent that amount of money on an NFT, it was pocket lint, shrapnel, chump change. Or whatever the digital, crypto equivalent is.
Sort of. Just because a group sells lots of 'stuff' I am not convinced that makes them a "world class music group." I'm not convinced Rolling Stone's demographic are big fans either, but clearly I could be wrong.
But, honestly, whatever music puts a smile on people's faces is fine by me.
Labour Lord George Robertson saying the UK needs to spend more on defence? The same Robertson who was Secretary General of NATO from 1999 to 2003?
The Robertson who's on the board of the Cohen Group which "assists aerospace and defense firms on policy, business development and transactions"? LOL.
Perhaps too the world's access to the 'lifestyles of the rich and the famous' has made more people pause and wonder what the fabulously wealthy have actually done to deserve it all?
Perhaps the flipside of 'envy' is a sense of real discontent, with massive global inequalities made visible.
When I saw this I assumed (a) it had to fake and (b) the guy Trump was bringing back to life was Epstein, which obviously bolstered (a).
But, no, Trump is Jesus. Beat that, Pope Leo, you LOSER!
Uhhh, this is *not* the content I follow Rolling Stone for. Just, not.
Still, clicks and engagement, amirite?
I'm the perfect example of 'old man shouts at cloud' meme. I worked in magazines pre-internet (and post-) and saw what it it did to 'my' industry. That's the context of my tiny stand against the further enshittification of our cultural landscape. What happens to musicians will happen to everyone...
You paid for the music, you buy a t-shirt, you go to gigs, you're a long term fan, so I think copying a CD you paid for is legit. With Spotify, AFAIK, you 'rent' music, most bands get diddly, Spotify scrapes your data and flogs it to third parties.
I just don't get streaming. As ever, cui bono?
